TITLE: "The Familiar Flickering Lights"
Fandom: Supernatural
Pairing: Post-Sam/Dean
Rating: G
Summary: He has never been alone like this before... he only comfort a flickering light.
Word Count: only 220. It's a drabble-type thing.... um...yeah
Notes: Yeah, so the only other real Supernatural fic I've written is about Dean trying to beat on some play-doh while creating a scene out of a hunt. But here I sat reading wincesty smut and listening to the greatest hits of Styx and I decided to do my thing. My thing being poetry. I always write poetry, always have. So I decided to write this drabbly/poem bastard child with an open character thought process. I wrote the fic from a certain characters point of view... but it can be taken any way. Oh! And this has in now way been beta-ed. Hell, I haven't even really went through it because if I do I'll try to perfect it and lose the whole feel that I wanted. Anyways just let me know how you think it is. If it's worth my time to continue writing drabbly things.
Disclaimer: Supernatural, the concept of 'drabbles' and then wonderful world that is 'poetry' is most definitely NOT mine. If they were I would be awesome, but they're not so I'm not quite that awesome....maybe someday.... *plots*
The Familiar Flickering Lights
Sometimes the familiar flickering light means nothing more than another shitty motel...
Not a demon, nor a poltergeist, nothing supernatural at all...
just another shitty day in another shitty motel in another shitty little town.
But the flickering lights...
while they should terrify...actually sooth
because they remind him of another time
when there was a family
people who could be counted on and
people that could love.
But that is all gone now
it doesn't work like that anymore.
Where flickering lights represented familiarity
now they represent loneliness
and the need to pack up and leave.
That is all he does now
He moves onto the next flickering light motel
and then it's time to move on
Time to move onto the next town
the next job
the next place to mourn for all that was lost
the next set of memories.
It's never been like this before
he's never been alone before
not truly
and he doesn't know how to survive this way.
When they were alive he always knew there was someone
somewhere
remembering him
loving him
waiting to see him again
...caring...
but that's all gone now...
they're both gone now....
HE's gone now.
The one that loved him the most
the one that loved him the least
the one that loved him the best
the one that was so right for him
and yet, so wrong.
and he will always miss him
until he can see him again
and the flickering ends
but as always...
...
The flickering begins again
....
Just as it always will...
.
without end.
