Fae Encounters;
The fideal makes a return to the loch, along with an increasing amount of asrai. The each usige will be wearing the glamour of a handsome woman or man these two weeks. Following the river might have you run into the kelpie, who will be behaving in a similar way, albeit with the glamour of a horse. As always, residents should be careful near the water!
Stray sods, spriggans, ballybogs, and tattie bogles will roam the meadows, along with hoards of pillywiggins and the occasional devas clinging to a plant. A bigger threat will be lurking in the form of cu sith - the green dogs will be silently roaming the meadows at all times of the day, ready to attack. They will also stalk deep into the forest, so any would-be foresters will need to take care. Of course, they'd need to take care anyway, as the tree folk will be up to their usual tricks and twisting around the forest paths. Will-o-the-Wisps will be flickering on and off too, enticing anyone who happens to look into the forest of a night. As if the twisted paths and enticing lights were not hindrance enough, fachans will be guarding some paths, refusing to let anyone by unless they are made to laugh. Furthermore, the satyrs and wood woes will be in a violent, confrontational mood, and there will only be one urisk and very few ghille dhu around to help. Stick to the hyper sprites and spunkies if lost.
Over on the other side of Demeleier, the graveyard will be all but silent. A few slaugh will be present, hissing over the gravestones of previously dead residents. The reason for their muted presence will become obvious to anyone who stays around for long, however. Muryans have moved out of the crypts and are now creeping over the graves, mausoleums, and yew trees. A few will even creep into the kirk, if it is not properly consecrated. Wherever they go, a swarm of ants or spiders will be with them.
Unfortunately, the baobhan sith is not deterred by these unsettling creatures, and will continue her walk from the graveyard to the the mountains and back again. Anyone taking that path may run afoul of her. They will also come under the scrutiny of gwyllion, who will only grow more concentrated the further up the mountain one goes. Stone fae will stalk the mountains at night, and the ogres will be seen roaming about. Some will even sniff around the remains of Rock's mine. As if that weren't enough, leap-upons will be lurking about, looking for a ride, and a swarm of hobyah will rampage through the night. If they catch sight of any travellers, they will chase them all the way back to their homes in the village.
The village itself will continue to be plagued by bogeymen, bugbears, and bodachs at night. Furthermore, Rawhead and Bloodybones, none the worse for wear from his encounter with Gamzee's iron sickle, will be back under its cupboard and continuing to chastise and punish any under 21s up after midnight without permission. It won't be the only fae busying itself with the welfare of the residents; brownies will do the tidying up for people if left some scraps from dinner, or a bowl of cream of an evening. The cream and milk will continue to be supplied by the glaistig as she cares for the livestock in the stables, but she will seem skittish and unnerved, and may throw rocks at any residents who come too close to her over the next two weeks. Similarly, the black dogs will be in an uncertain mood, swinging from moody to violent at different points throughout the day.
Lastly, residents may well catch sight of the Far Dorocha at any point. He will do nothing but stand off in the distance, an ominous black shape, and melt away if approached.
Please remember that any and all interactions with these fae are completely optional. Here is the
bestiary for more information on the fae!

OOC;
- This does not refer to this update, but please keep in mind that there will be a Halloween Ball on the 31st of October! There will be more information in the following game update - this is just a head's up so people know OOCly. Things will start being put in place ICly in a week or so.
- In addition (and directly related) to this, a Night Mare Event is scheduled for the 23rd of October. As it will be plot related, the format of the dreams will be that of a Dream Log. For reference:
- A Dream Log is one long, continuous dream that characters experience at your discretion. Players submit dreams to one of the moderators, and they write them up into one big post. ICly, it's one big dream made up of lots of little parts. Characters will experience this dream ICly, and will wake up and react to what they saw/what they remembered as you see fit. The dreams can be written in first, third, or second person, and be any rating and cover any subject matter. Trigger warnings should be clearly posted when sending dreams that require them to the moderator's email, and NSFW dreams should be marked at such. There will be one large warning at the top of each post about the content.
If you're curious, examples of the dreams include
Part 1 and
Part 2!
.
The themes for this set will be Weakness and Boundaries. You can do one or the other, both, or neither. Following the theme is completely optional! Please send your dreams to inhyacinths[at]gmail[dot]com! The cut off date for sending in the dreams will be the 19th October.
- The crypts will have a new riddle this month. It is as follows:
If a man enters a room with five doors and knows four lead to hell, which one should he take to get back to safety?
When the riddle is correctly answered and gold placed in the offetary bowl, residents can enter the crypts. They will be stalked by the Revenant within, but if they journey right down to the library at the center, they will find a leather bound book. It will be full of pictures of standing stones, and lovely etchings of fae at feast or play. If the book is found, we will go into further detail about this!
- Please
update your friends list! You should have 123 friends. If your character is not on the friends add, please let us know!
- If there are any comments, questions, or concerns about the content of this update, please leave a comment or send either myself or Eilidh a ping on aim/over plurk!
