Harry Potter, no spoilers

Jul 21, 2005 22:47

I finished Harry Potter. Prisoner of Azkaban will still be my favorite, but this one might very well be my second favorite... I need to mull over it some more.

I was not as surprised as I thought I would be at who died. I am, however, surprised how it happened. (Thankfully, I missed the death scene page that was put on the internet.)

The villains really develop well in this book, with one notable exception. I like a good, three-dimensional villain, and I don't think it was overdone to the point of excess.

The romance scenes, frankly, seemed rather pointless, extraneous, and weak. But I am very, very glad that "CAPS LOCK HARRY" has mostly gone away.

If it weren't 11pm I'd write more. As it is, my brother bore the brunt of my "oh-my-god I can't believe it!" dorkiness. It is good for me that he didn't mind being told what happened so that I could expel my energy rambling about it. (This is not an uncommon thing when Matt is available after I have just finished a good book.) I really am a dork.
