I had an idea. But I'd like to know if there is any interest in this kind of thing before proceeding any further.
Remember "Choose Your Own Adventure" books? I found a website tonight called 1000000 Monkeys. People start stories, other people coninue them, and there are multiple branches to each story. I was thinking something like that might be fun for a Harry/Ginny story.
Say...someone posts a story beginning (in a community, or in a personal journal, whichever). And invites people to comment with continuations of the story, maybe with a limit of 500 words (but not a minimum, after all, sometimes when you turned the page in a "Choose Your Own" you got a 2 sentence bit like "The dragon bit your head off. The End."). Comments would be screened, and there would be a time limit for posting a continuation. Then the post could be edited with links to the next pieces of the story, which would be in different posts. Comments that were simply reviews of the story rather than continuations could be unscreened.
It wouldn't even have to be limited to Harry/Ginny. This could be an interesting multi-ship effort. (I know some of you will hate that idea, but you wouldn't have to read the non H/G paths if you didn't want to). Say...Ginny walks into Study Hall. Harry is waving at her, Draco is scowling at her, and Dean is giving her puppy dog eyes. Which one should she sit and talk to?
I don't know. It could either be really fun, or really lame, depending on how many people participate and what they write. Either way, I thought I'd throw it out there and see if anyone else thought it might be fun, too.
