Yesterday, I was unneccessarily scared. Here's why.
At the checkouts, I was standing around. This guy came up to me, hand in pocket, and looked right at me and said, "Can you open your drawer?"
I was in a very bad mood and was in one of those places where I felt I had nothing to lose so I locked my cash register, turned around, and declared, "No. Why?" I said it in a very angry, don't-mess-with-me-voice, but I still felt like shitting myself.
He said, "I just want change," and took his hand out of his pocket, not to reveal a gun (as I had thought), but a one hundred dollar bill.
"Oh," I said. "You can get change at the service desk."
