One last Obama post for the day

I mentioned the endorsements he received earlier in the day. I've got video of Ted Kennedy's speech now, and I'd like to share it.

In addition, I heard just tonight on the radio that Kathleen Sebelius, the Kansas Governor will officially endorse Obama tomorrow.

Also, if there's anyone else from KS still on my flist, I thought I'd mention a few things about caucus. It's Tuesday, Feb. 5th. You can check where your caucus will be held by going to BarackObama.Com and clicking on Find your Caucus Location on the sidebar to the right. If you're in Shawnee County and know who your state senator is then I can tell you where you'll meet. Senate District #18, represented by Laura Kelly, then your Caucus will be at Robinson Middle School. If you're in Senate District #19, represented by Anthony Hensley then you will caucus at Highland Park High School. If you're in Senate District #20, represented by a republican, then your caucus will be held at Topeka West High School, I believe in building #2, but I'm not positive. There should be a sign.

Anyone who will be 18 or older on November 4, 2008 and is a resident of Kansas is elegible to Caucus on Feb. 5th. If you're not registered to vote, or are registered as a Republican or unaffiliated, you may still caucus with us. You'll have to fill out a registration card at the site and affiliate with the Democratic party, but you're free to switch after caucus if you want. Doors open at 6 PM and you must be in the building by 7 PM. Doors will be locked at that time, so don't be late. Caucus shouldn't take that long. There will be a minimum of two votes. A candidate needs to pull at least 15% of the caucus to be awarded delegates. It's really a very fun process, and we Obama supporters are planning to have more fun than most. Here in Shawnee County you can count on refreshments, fun, and the possibility of door prizes.

Barack Obama will have a rally in El Dorado, KS tomorrow. He will be at Butler Community College in the gym. The address is 901 SW Haverhill Rd. Doors will open at 11:45 and Obama should arrive at about 12:30. Admission is free, but space is limited so show up early if you'd like to be there. It's expected that Gov. Sebelius will make her endorsement official at that time.

If you can't make it there, he will be in Kansas City later in the day (on the Missouri side). As a matter of fact, I'll be getting on a bus leaving Topeka about 2:00 to go to this rally myself. It's at the Municipal Auditorium Exhibition Hall, 301 W. 13th Street. The doors open at 3:45 and the event is scheduled to begin at 5:45. Again, space is limited but there is no fee to get in.

You should know for both rallies that you cannot take a bag in with you for security reasons. You are also not supposed to take signs or banners.

Gov. Sebelius just finished the Democratic Response to the State of the Union. I was struck by the similar themes that she used and that Ted Kennedy used in his endorsement of Obama. She spoke of how we are one America that is tired of divisive politics and of leaders who ask nothing of us. I suspect that her endorsement tomorrow will sound a lot like Senator Kennedy's did earlier today. Expect another political post tomorrow, because I expect to be fired up after the rally.
