My sister was here, and we watched Twilight
So, since the last time I posted, my sister has been home to visit, we watched all 3 Twilight movies with my sister-in-law, I've finished my Yuletide fic, I've defaulted on a different challenge, Hawaii Five-0 has continued to be the gayest show on television, and I've gotten caught up on White Collar.
cyren_2132's visit was pretty good, but short. As usual, we ate, then ate some more, then went out with an old family friend to eat some more, and guess what, ate some more. Sometimes I feel like that's all we do when she's home.
As mentioned above, we spent a fair amount of time at my brother's house watching the Twilight movies with my Sister-in-law. They were ridiculously bad, but enormously fun to mock (except for when they were so very bad that we didn't have the words to describe the badness). Is it very very sad, that I now want to go out and find the three books I haven't read (New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn), both so I can get to the end of the story without having to wait for the fourth movie and in the hopes of getting a little more Carlisle and Alice (and maybe Jasper) who are the only characters that I care about in the least. Another day, I'll make a post with more actual review type writing about these, but for now, it was fun. I cannot seriously recommend them, but it was fun.
I finished the last edit on my Yuletide story with about 20 minutes to deadline. That's pretty much the second year in a row that's happened. I promise to do better next year. I'm not entirely pleased with it, but I don't think it's vile either.
I defaulted on a Buffy fiction exchange, and I'm very sorry. I'm working on a note to send to the recipient, but I just couldn't write it. I should have contacted a mod right away, because it violated at least one of my "I Will Not Write," rules, but I thought I could come up with something. It's not even that the ideas weren't there, but the execution was complete and utter crap, probably because I didn't believe in any of it.
So, now I just have a couple of Faith-centric stories left to write, and my personal goal of finishing the SGA/Buffyverse, Wesley in Atlantis fic to finish before the first of the year. I can do it. Of course, I can.
No real updates on Hawaii Five-0 other than I love my new show. They did disappoint a lot of us in the last episode when they had Danny call one of the bad guys, babe, so apparently Danny just throws that word around a lot. Damn. Still, they aren't making any move to have Steve stop gazing longingly at Danny all the freaking time, so I'm happy.
I love White Collar, I do, but I seriously wish that I have saved that last episode and watched it towards the end of hiatus. Grr.
Now, I need to catch up on Leverage, and maybe watch this season's Supernatural episodes so far. Probably though, I'll just watch all 3 Sherlock episodes for about the millionth time instead.
