General update..
Elmo's nana died early Christmas morning. She'd had a minor stroke the week before and went downhill fairly fast. Up until then her only complaint was some athritis, she still had all of her marbles, most of her independence (she moved into an aged care facility after breaking her arm, more for the domestic help and the company). We made sure we visited every time we were down, even if only for 20 minutes. She was almost 92 which is a very good innings. RIP Nana Joan. First chance for a funeral is NYE which is unfortunate.
Our garden is doing well, though we foolishly planted all of the tall things next to each other. The sunflowers have gone crazy, we have more tomatoes than we could use (some for sun-drying, others for bottling, yay wog sauce!), our capsicums are coming along, our carrots are doing well after we went for seedlings, the seed just never transplanted out of the seedling trays well. Brocolli and rocket have been gorged by something, and we have pumpkin going beserk. Our local nursery is having a giant pumpkin growing competition; both Elmo and my younger brother signed up. Ours is doing much better than his, both of us keep checking out our competition :)
We've been baking today. We've made a meat and a veggie lasagna and chopped into meal size portions for freezing. We've also made 2 batches of biscuits, I burnt some of mine too badly (was washing Pepper) so I only ended up with 6 as I made the type that you stick together with jam. Done heaps of washing of clothes and dishes.... bit exhausted now. Lasagna, a glass of wine and watching a movie sounds like an awesome night after all that.
Pepper is doing Roxy's old trick of wiggling under the couch for ninja attack mode:
