back home, thank god

It's midnight, and I am back from Chicago, a whole day early.

Last night Brian and I went to Charlie's and then to the Cell Block. We had a great time, got a couple of drinks, and met up with lots of his friends. I had a great time, and so did he.

Wayne however, decided that (spoken in a whiney voice) "It's my day too, and I need a day to myself before I start my new job!"

So, I didn't get to see my friend Mike, who had a stroke a couple months back. I was not at all happy. Karma's a bitch Wayne!

Anyway, we were up by 8:30 am, and were packing and moving the entire apartment down to the moving van by 10:15 am. Wayne wanted to be out of the place by 3 pm. Ha! It didn't happen. We weren't out of there until 7:30 pm; over 9 hours of carrying his shit down 3 flights of stairs. He could have at least asked his friends to help. I asked him about it. Who knows, maybe he doesn't have any. I guess I was there more to help Brian anyway.

Off to the Chicago Skyway it was. We had to take back roads, because the moving van and pickup truck were not allowed on Lake Shore Drive. It took us an extra 40 minutes just because of that.

We finally stopped for dinner at about 10 pm, just east of Kalamazoo. I was starving. We stopped and got gas too. The cheapest place was $2.04/gal. Wow. Too bad it's not that low here in Detroit.

I am so freakin sore. My knees, feet, ankles, calves, etc. are sore as hell. I'm going to walk funny for days. I need a massage sooooo bad.

I'm off to catch up on my TV now. Tomorrow is Mother's day. Yay!

P.S. Happy Birthday Wilomoon! Welcome to the 41 club. See you in July!!
