The Boy and I went to see "Jaws" tonight at the Prince Charles Cinema. Da-mn.
It may seem a bit strange to go and watch such an old movie in the cinema but it is a totally worthwhile thing to go and do. I've seen "Jaws" many many times yet it was only tonight that the full scale of the terror (and the film) really got to me. The soundtrack was loud, the colours just right and everything seemed far closer like I was underwater with the shark, or perched on the deck of the "Orca".
I also saw bits that I had never really seen before and even heard bits as well. Such an awesome film although I do feel as though the music is never going to get out of my head now. Everyone knows the signature theme to "Jaws" but there are some truly beautiful parts in there as well, like when they find the destroyed fishing boat, not where the jumpy bit is but the whole journey towards the boat. Guuuuuh. Quint's story about the USS Indianapolis as well *shivers*
We're fully signed up members of the Prince Charles now, so bring on the vintage films! :)
