(snurched from

So I know I haven't done much fic this year, but this is more a way for me to pimp out the fic I HAVE done! :P
2010 fic meme
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
Way less. I have about a million fic ideas, and a fraction make them onto the page. Or, you know, screen... But I'm pleased with what I did write!
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January?
Cordelia/Willow. One I never thought of before the episode School Hard, but that closet scene was too good not to fic!
What's your own favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest?
Probably
Self Respect. It's a little poem from Jo's (SPN) POV explaining, among other things, her relationship with Dean. I love it because I think I got her voice right, and I like how I sum up her story and give her a little epilogue.
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
Not really. I just went through my files and I've realised I've only posted 4 fanfics this year! My RiBadge is still unfinished, probably because it's so much work, but I like where it's going. Ruthie, I promise I'll finish it soon! And I also want to write Eve/Lindsey, and something about Doyle. Also Groo/Anne is another idea of mine. I just have too many plot bunnies and too little time! I was writing a Harmony and Cordy redemption fic - the part of You're Welcome that was missing, but I've hit a wall with it. Hopefully someday I'll finish that.
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
See above, along with doing more of
Behind Closed Doors and of course my creative writing assignments (ah!) which include the second chapter of
Mary-Jane Bright. Oh, and Dawn/Connor, Gwen/Connor, and explaining the historical innacuracies in Selfless (which, btw, I watched the other day and there were NOT things exploding in Petrograd at that time! Riots! Not Revolution!! Sigh.)
My Best Story:
I think probably
The Tale of Princess Cordy which is a CRAP title. I wrote it quickly when I was ill, and I love it. It's also TRAGICALLY not read. I think one person commented and they're not even on my flist. So yeah. Please read it guys! I think I captured Cordy's voice perfectly (re-reading it I was actually surprised at how much it sounded like her).
Story Most Underappreciated By The Universe:
See above! Along with Self Respect - they are my two faves and the least read. The most read is Kissing Girls (the Willow/Cordy fic) which makes me happy because it's pure crack :D
Most Fun:
Probably Kissing Girls. I had lots of fun writing it and imagining those two together!
Most Disappointing:
The Mind-Pocalypse Diaries I had this big plan to fill in the blanks between the end of S2 of Dollhouse and Epitaph Two. And then nothing happened. It was way too big a project for me, I'll admit. But I re-read this little snippet - Adelle's view of the events of Hollow Men - and I'm actually pleased with how I captured her voice. It has good potential, but it doesn't really add anything to the story.
Most Sexy:
Kissing Girls. Also my RiBadge fic when I finish it. Gonna be some smexy scenes!
Hardest To Write:
RiBadge. The proof being that I haven't finished yet! It requires so much research to write in River and Badger's voices - Firefly speak is detailed to say the least. Also I find it hard to get in Badger's head (it's pips to get in River's). And it's also hard to mould it around my prompt - Fast As You Can by Fiona Apple (great song).
Choice Lines:
"Poor Topher. I do feel sorry for him. As if it weren’t bad enough to be (partly) responsible for all this in the first place, simply because he was curious. He blames me, I know. I accept that. And I still feel I did the right thing. Rossum would have built the damned thing anyway, just slower. At least this way I retained my little bit of control. My actives are safe.
But just to add to Topher’s guilt, Whiskey has to go and kill his annoying little girlfriend. The one time Topher is actually able to relate to another human being, share real emotions with them... All gone.
And not to mention the blood. Terrible for the soft furnishings."
- The Mind Pocalypse Diaries: Adelle
"Cordelia breathes out heavily. Willow turns her head to the door, wondering about escape routes and attack plans. Wonders whether Buffy’s fighting him. Wonders if the others made it out. Wonders...
Cordelia’s hand falls onto Willow’s thigh. It feels like sparks. With a jolt, Willow looks at Cordelia. Her face is fraught and pale.
“Cordelia...”
And she notices her hand is on Willow’s leg. She snatches it away.
“Sorry,” she breathes. Her hand is trembling.
And it’s then Willow realises. This girl who tortured her mercilessly, who always took an opportunity to mock her, taunt her... is still a girl. A scared girl. A girl who, underneath her bravado and snark and vain exterior, is just like everyone else. Is just like Willow."
- Kissing Girls
"Start with the curtain rising on Mary-Jane’s face, radiant and bright, perfect lips advertising Maybelline Color Sensation lip gloss just one application and your lips will stay beautiful for hours. Guaranteed. She smiles at the camera and pouts slightly, the nation’s girl-next-door.Cut to her body curled around the sidewalk, that wonderful face too smashed up to recognise, shade 5 burgundy blood seeping into her golden locks. Glorious in destruction.“Taken from us too young,” the voiceover booms, “Mary-Jane Bright was a vision of loveliness, loved by all who knew her, adored by millions that didn’t...”
Wait.
Stop.
That’s crap."
- The Secret Life of Mary-Jane Bright
"Ok, so first of all - coma? Not so fun. Not as bad as being trapped in the cage of your own body, forced to watch yourself commit atrocities you’d never dream of (and I’m just talking about the clothes She made me wear). Still pretty bad though. Kinda like the Higher-Being place, only considerably gloomier. And, if possible, even more boring.
So here I am, stuck in the dark. And I feel I should confess or at least document my final thoughts, even if it’s to no-one. Hey, I live in a world full of slimy beasties - who am I to say there’s not a physic somewhere hanging on my every thought? So here it is. The Confessions of Cordelia Chase. Wait, that sounds really boring. How about The Tale of Princess Cordy? I like that way better.
Ugh. Who am I kidding. I’m no princess any more. Not Queen C, not Bitch Supreme, not a warrior or a Higher Power. I’m just a girl in a coma. Oh my God. I’ve sunk to Faith’s depths. Dear God, kill me now.
Only please don’t.
Only I know it’s coming. I can feel it. It’s like the blackness is getting... blacker. Somehow. Totally wigging me out. So here’s my story, before I go gentle into that good night."

this one, as I think it's the best I've written.
Anyway,
~Lili
