Lady Gaga vs Katy Perry

Ok.  So Katy Perry has been all Queen Christian Bitch and slated Gaga's new video, Alejandro.  Which of course she is perfectly entitled to do (and all the great videos have attracted controversy).  What pisses me off is that she has NO LEG TO STAND ON.

She said: “Using blasphemy as entertainment is as cheap as a comedian telling a fart joke."  Which is ridiculous, because Gaga wasn't blaspheming.  This was my reply on msn's article about it:

"The moment we start dictating what can and cannot be used in entertainment (comedy, films or music videos) is the moment we allow censorship.  We live in a society where freedom of speech is allowed.  That means that every so often people will get offended.  But is it better to have our freedom taken away?

There's already so much that we can't talk about or use in entertainment.  Let's not add this to the list.

Plus Katy Perry has no leg to stand on here.  Gaga was using Christian symbolism for dramatic and theatrical effect.  Whereas Perry used lesbianism to objectify herself to boys and men when she started her carreer, playing on a ridiculous fetish to get noticed.  At least Gaga appreciates the art that music can be.  The art that there is no sign of in Perry's music or videos."
Also, the point of Gaga being dressed as a nun was to show her frustration.  This video is about her adoration of her gay friends' courage in expressing their sexuality, and her desire to be with them.  But they only want to be with each other.  Therefore she is pictured as a nun, untouchable and chaste, while her friends ignore her or platonically worship her.  It's a very interesting video (one that totally doesn't match what the lyrics mean!).

So Gaga wasn't blaspheming.  And Perry is obviously too stupid or too judgemental (or both) to realise the point of this video.  Oh, and the fact that it was better than any of her blatant attempts to objectify and prostitute herself to her targent audience: sexually frustrated men.  Yeah, she's the Good Christian Girl alright.

LOL!!!  Sorry, haven't had a good bitch in a while.  That felt good!  And I'm not dissing anyone who likes Katy's music, or who disagrees with my points.  That's the beauty of a free society!
