This episode was... On the whole disappointing. Not from a plot point of view, or an excitement point of view, or even, to some extent, a writing point of view. No. I have my reasons and shall state them in a minute.
Ah, River. She was amazing, wasn't she? She was. So good. And she looked very good, too. ^^ I loved her in that hat - she should get a proper captains hat and a proper jacket and then go meet up withJack and they could have all sorts of shenanigans together and also torment Eleven because god, the two of them flirting with each other and with him? He wouldn't know what to do with himself! As witnessed in the scene where she was all "watch out, that bowtie" and he was on the desk all *ahem* and uncomfortably shofting around *grins* Understandable though *nods* I'd be flustered too XD
Uhm, about Moffat being a mysogynyst - is he really though? Surely there must be some other more fitting description of what he's like. Isn't mysogyny hatred of women, or along those lines? It's just, he doesn't hate women. He's just making crude remarks sometimes and I guess, uhm, sexist comments? I dunno, I'm not all that well versed with the definitions of mysgonyst and sexist, so. But I definitely don't think he hates women, so some other description is surely called for. *shrug*
It's not like I approve of men being pigs, but I just don't think Moffat is. There are way worse. Did you see that thing in the Mirror, with that horrible 'journalist' (yeah right >.<) who wrote a 'review' (pfft) about LKH and totally thrashed Alex Kingston and then at the end wrote something absolutely awful? Just, that, that is horrible. That makes me fume. That man is a monster. Moffat is nothing compared to him. I guess perhaps my perspective on what is sexist enough to be horrible and offputting differs from others, but that one is just disgusting. I'm still furious. There have been lots of responses though, people even reported it to the police, so that's good. God, I hope he gets fired. *rages* Ahem, sorry, didn't mean to go on about it but yeah. >.<
Oh, but I might be of assistance when it comes to the other quotes you didn't remember - was it by chance the "Plus, she's a woman! ... oh shut up, I'm dying!" while Amy frowned at him in the background? And the weighing thing, perhaps? Because I've seen others be irked by those, even though I could care less. Besides, the weighing thing could be viewed however - she could be worrying about gaining or losing, or she could just be curious if she got that dress size right. Perfectionist *shakes head* :P Uhm, other than that I don't know. My review is pretty detailed though - or well, it's more of me flailing and capslocking and throwing quotes around and squeeing and stuff than a proper thoughtful review (yeah, that'll never happen CAPSLOCK ALL THE WAY *grins*) but still, perhaps there's something there if you need to refresh your memory :)
And I'm doing one of them long comments I like so much *grins* If you managed to get through it all, and without falling asleep, you deserve a cooki. Nay, several cookies. Nay, a cake. *gives you cake* There, enjoy XD

SHE IS BLOODY GORGEOUS OMG and YES I APPROVE to the Jack and River adventures because omg. That show. Would be so epic all other shows would simultaneously cease to exist because it's too awesome. And yeah, the relationship between River and the Doctor was just the best part of the episode and, to me, made it worth the stuff I didn't like. The development!!! The dramatic irony!!! The angst!!! The chemistry!!!
I just can't.
Apparently. Sexist I guess would be a more fitting definition. I think teh feminitz of teh intarwebs are little too eager with the word misogynist. If it's used too much then it diminshes what it really means. And yes, I am guilty of this and will attempt to fix in future lol.
And yeah of course. I'm not in any way ignoring incidences like that, or throwing Moffat in with those kind of people. He's not like that. I think, at least. I actually don't know the man so I don't know, he could be. It's just that there's been too much of Amy blaming and Amy doing nothing and Amy being the victim recently. But that's probably just me being pedantic again!
Yeah I liked that quote :D That one made me giggle a bit. Though I still don't like the Doctor suddenly being someone who makes comments like that. He didn't in any other regenerations I know (all 3 of them lol) and it adjusts the whole character for me. Because the subconcious motivation to make those comments, to my psycholligcally uneducated brain lol, either comes from social conditioning (and there's no mention of this sort of casual sexism in Galifreyan culture, that I know of), or a latent sexism/misogyny. And neither of those options seem to fit the Doctor. Unless he's picked it up from Earth culture of course. And somehow it's only prominent in this regeneration... I dunno. In any case, Eleven was my fave Doctor and now I'm leaning back towards Ten. And that's Moffat's fault.
LOL YAY CAKE
Except I'm pretty sure that offer expires after a week or so! :O
