Anyway I didn’t ship him with anyone because of all the characters he seemed the one most his age. To me, he was just a kid looking for adventure, loving friendship but not bothered or even thinking about anything more. And in a way I still see him like that. But I’m a shipper, what can I say?!

Ok, so this is one of my 3 otps and I could ramble about it forever. This ship was the first time I shipped John with anyone, and one of the things I love about it is how young it is - these are two kids who engage each other and I love how their relationship slowly develops into something more than friendship, but in a really subtle and understated way.
There are so many reasons I ship this, but we’re starting with John so this is from his perspective. I love Vris as a matesprit for John because... Well, their chemistry is awesome for a start. And, despite her harshness, she is actually as silly and excitable as he is. Although it wouldn’t seem so, they’re a great match. They enjoy the same things, they get on well... From John’s POV I love this ship. She’s this exciting, exotic girl, somehow both approachable and intimidating. She’s unlike anyone he’s ever met and for some reason she is not only interested in him but is intent to help him succeed, to help him become a hero. While I think John likes or warms to people easily, with Vriska I think there’s something else going on. She fascinates him: she is similar to him yet is still a polar opposite. He can’t relate to her journey, would find the things she’s done abhorrent, and yet he doesn’t judge her, just sees the good in her, the wonderful and damaged girl she won’t let anyone else know.
I just love this you guys.

I still don’t REALLY ship this, but it intrigues me. I just don’t see them as being romantic together - there’s no spark for me. BUT I couldn’t help but ship it a bit when John was being all cute and derpy and made grimdark Rose smile and flutter her eyelashes a bit. Cos... cos... I dunno. But for me it’s way more of a moirallegiance. They love each other and understand each other, but to me they’re just good friends that look out for each other. I don’t have to explain moirallegiance to you guys! Basically, that’s how I ship them.
♦ (♥) Karkat:
I just... I can’t deny this ship, you guys. The characters just go so well together, they spark off each other, there’s enough conflict to make it hot, enough affection to make it endearing, and enough awkwardness to make it hilarious. Problem is, I think John would only ever be interested in being Karkat’s moirail as there’s no way he could maintain a kismesis. He’s just too upbeat for that. Plus he’s never hated Karkat. In an AU where my otp doesn’t exist (I DON’T CARE IF SHE’S GONE MY OTP IS STILL STRONG) I could see them getting together as matesprits because... Oh I don’t have to explain. There’s enough awesome John/KK fanart out there to show you how that would work and why it’s awesome! However, while I enjoy it, it’ll never be a big ship for me because I ship both characters as matesprits to others. And that sentence was so grammatically sound, you guys. Anyway, hope I’m making myself clear! In my head these guys end up as moirails and it’s derpy goodness :D
