Ok! So life's been hectic. Sorry I haven't replied to many of your comments - I want to I just... Essays suck, basically. I don't wanna talk about it. This month is gonna be hell.
SO
Royal Wedding
Gorgeous! I cba at first because, y'know, just two people getting married. But then I realised it was all patriotic and special and I haven't experienced a royal event really yet so :D We went to the Union bar to watch it and wow guys. The atmosphere was amazing! Not just in the bar but... everywhere! It just felt like a day of celebration :D The ceremony was gorgeous (her dress!), the couple were adorable, the Queen was refined, Bea and... the other one's (:O) hats were... LOL, Philip was hilarious (at one point he was reading, swear to God), Harry was bouncy cuteness, Pippa was lovely (Harry/Pippa ftw!), the commentators were a perfection of dry English wit...
"...and Prince Harry, who seems to be finding all of this hilarious..."
"Ah. The Queen seems to have had enough."
LOL

How fucking epic is he?!
The day for me though? Not good.
So yeah. Moral is I shouldn't drink Pimm's early in the morning. I didn't get drunk or anything, but my stomach was going to be bad that day anyway (though I couldn't have known this) and putting alcohol on top of that? Not good. So not good. It was definitely nearing absolute worst of the scale of pain I experience. I had to go home. It sucked. Luckily it calmed down enough for me to hobble downstairs for the balcony appearance, but the whole day was just constant pain.
Another thing that sucked: Hull banned street parties. I have wanted to have a street party SINCE I WAS ABOUT 4 and saw a pic of VE day in my history book (I was nostalgic from a very early age). Worst thing: my town back home had a party in my favourite street.

.
But enough angst!
American Psycho
I watched it with mah buds. It was good. I prefer Fight Club. Also, I would have preferred the twist to be a bigger part of the plot. Especially the whole who-is-he angle. But that's just me. (And then it pretty much just would have been FC!) ALSO poor Jared Leto! He's like the Kenny of edgy films.
Other things.... I've turned 4, maybe 5 people onto watching Community, and a 6th is soon jumping in...
Oh yeah! I was rewatching AtS (First Impressions, S2) and I remembered how pissed off I was first time that it wasn't Cordy that killed Gunn's demon. It's just like... why not?! She could easily have done it and Angel had his own plotline with Darla. It's just Cordelia being consigned to the role of Enabler.
See, I've spotted that in a lot of films and shows, the power woman character is often not a hero in her own right, but an enabler, whose purpose is to enable the male protagonist to become the hero. And that sucks. It's a cop out masquerading as woman power. And Cordy is such a victim of this. I mean sure, in the narrative she was sent to help Angel, but I always saw her as a hero in her own right. And this is just one example when she could have been that hero, but the writers had Angel steal the spotlight.
Sighs.
