I loved how she was finally shaping up to be a character I could appreciate, but I can't help but blame her for this.

WELL, ACTUALLY. I think he mostly did it for Merlin, 'cause Gwen only told Lance to bring Arthur back safely, and he still could have done so if Merlin walked into the veil. Lance and Merlin are bffl's, man.

Maybe he did it a bit for everyone? For Merlin, who he saw great potential in and a true ability to change the world, to follow his destiny. For Arthur, a great righteous king to become, who's journey of self-growth could not end right now and who would have been devastated beyond hope if Merlin had died. For Gwen, his one and only love despite all, to whom he had sworn an oath on his life, one he fulfilled.

Whatever it was, I have to agree with you. Lancelot was like the one friend that Merlin could be himself with, magic an all, and who wouldn't judge him because of it. They truly were the world's greatest BFFLs.

Do you think the writers will bring him back? :( I mean, he plays such an important role in the whole Gwen/Arthur romance and it's not just any knight, it's LANCELOT the great. Unless it was because Santiago had other gigs to attend to and couldn't do the show anymore?
