“… I’ll say it again - I am sorry,” his voice was void of the usual mirth, his hazel irises reflecting the emotions that he was still not willing to show outwardly.
Jude balled his fists, listening to the crinkle of the leather material that broke the silence between them as he did so, “You did a lot of bad things.” For one reason or another that all eluded him, Jude realized that he didn't hold any of it against the lying mercenary.
“I know,” Alvin gritted his teeth, turning his gaze off into the distance, watching the sun set on the horizon of Elympios' barren land.
It was in that moment when everything made sense to Jude, making him stretch out his hand. Alvin's shocked gaze only made the smile turn the corners of his lips gently, “I forgive you, Alvin.”
“Jude,” Alvin's voice rushed from his lips. Hesitantly, he reached forward, settling his hand in Jude's and feeling an overwhelming relief cascade through him, his shoulders slumping as the emotion tore at him, “Thank you.”
