“Aoba, your vitals are reaching dangerous zones, please calm down,” Ren said, pressing a paw to Aoba’s knee in the normal fashion to try and gain his owner’s attention.
Aoba cursed, the screwdriver missing the bolt in his anxiety, and scrapping along the metal mainframe, catching a cable and piercing it without any remorse. Aoba stared at the accidental screw up, feeling the swarming emotions that gnawed at him internally. He fingered the torn cable, following the line as it when further in the chest cavity.
“To the freaking cooling system,” Aoba cursed, dropping his tools and shoving his hands into his hair aggravatingly. He stared up at the tender features marred by the destroyed facial cyberskin, showing the burnt metal underneath, blank mauve eyes staring at him.
“Aoba, please calm down,” Ren pressed.
Aoba heaved a sigh, feeling the emotion lashing at him in hard waves. Breathing in a shaky breath, Aoba pulled his allmate into his lap, cradling the familiar ball of fur for any semblance of comfort. “I'll be okay Ren.” Ren allowed Aoba to press his face into his synthetic fur.
“I'll never have Clear again,” Aoba sighed.
Ren didn't try to stop Aoba from crying.
