“Here, have some popcorn,” Aoba said, offering Clear the bowl of freshly popped kernels.
Clear tilted his head, a cheerful smile blooming across his face, eagerly reaching to take the bowl. “It smells really good!” he exclaimed, only making Aoba chuckle in response.
“Yeah, I didn’t know how you liked it so I made it the usual way I do for myself,” Aoba fluffed a pillow and propped it up against the side of his bed, next to Clear on the floor. Clear shifted his crossed knees, uncrossing them and stretching out so that they could easily sit side-by-side.
Clear smelled the popcorn, before settling the bowl comfortably in his lap, “How do you like it made, Aoba-san?”
Aoba grabbed a hand full of kernels and popped them into his mouth. He spoke after he swallowed around chewing, “With lots of butter.” He reached for another handful, turning on the television with the remote. “Sometimes, I sprinkle that popcorn cheese on it too.”
“Popcorn cheese?” Clear furrowed his brows, before laughing at the statement. Aoba joined him as he pressed play on the remote to start the movie he had previously picked out and prepared.
“Yeah, it’s kinda like a dust, or well a seasoning really,” Aoba glanced over to Clear, smiling widely at the way Clear’s eyes crinkled with his returned smile, light mauve colored eyes gazing at him openly. The blue haired male nodded to the bowl in Clear’s lap, before shifting subtly on the floor, his knee leaned against the side of Clear’s thigh. “You should really try some of the popcorn though, you’ll really like it.”
Without hesitation, Clear followed suit, popping a few flavorful kernels into his mouth in an experimental taste test. Aoba watched from the corner of his eyes as the perfect reaction crossed over Clear’s features, just what he was looking for as he pressed the play button again on the menu screen.
“Ready?” Aoba asked, grabbing another handful of popcorn, tossing a few buttery pieces into his mouth. Clear nodded his head, mimicking Aoba.
As the movie played through the opening sequence, Aoba eagerly chatted with Clear over the characters and actors staring in the film. Within the first hour, they had finished off the bowl of buttery popcorn, Clear licking his fingers of all the residual butter flavor.
“Very delicious,” Clear mumbled, leaning forward to set the bowl on the table, before Aoba caught his arm, grumbling quietly. He turned to stare at the blue haired male, who had been quiet for some time, yet Clear hadn’t really noticed after having gotten sucked into the plot of the movie they had started together. “Aoba-san?”
The soft snores drifted to his ears, as Aoba sleepily nuzzled his cheek against Clear’s shoulder where he was resting it. The android set the bowl off to the side, instead of moving to put it back on the table.
Curiously, he brought his fingers to the blue tendrils that fell across Aoba’s pale cheeks, brushing them gently out of his vision. Fluttering eyelashes distracted him as he watched Aoba breath while he dozed.
Giving into the spur of the moment urge, Clear titled his head down, to press a soft kiss to the smooth skin of Aoba’s cheek. The boy didn’t budge, only making Clear press another peck to the tip of his nose, enjoying the way Aoba twitched it in response to his breath caressing his face.
“Sleep well, Aoba-san,” Clear whispered, shifting against the side of the bed, resting his head onto of Aoba’s as he returned to watching the movie, his tummy growling, and all he wished he could add to that perfect moment, was more popcorn.
