I'm running out of creative ways to use my pot heaters. So far I make scrambled eggs, boiled potatoes, boiled vegetables, and boiled sausage. I'm thinking of starting to fry some food, but I want to try to maintain a healthy diet. It's a shame that my room didn't come with an oven or a microwave because my options would be more numerous if that were the case. On the upside, potatoes always taste good and scrambled eggs are good too. I still have a hard time boiling vegetables though since I don't have a timer and I can never tell how cooked they are when I take them off the heater. Aside from sausage, I haven't tried cooking any other meat yet. I want to, but I'm afraid of ruining the meat and I hate wasting food. I think I'm going to look up some easy meat recipes for frying or boiling. Start with the easy stuff and work my way up until I become capable of making gourmet meals! I'd love to make some stew or something -- I don't think that would be too difficult to do here. Probably won't taste as good as my mom's though.
I'm also doing some research on black holes for my writing. I wish I had some better sources than Wikipedia though. I'm trying to understand the ways in which black holes are generated, but the explanations are a bit too dense even for me.
I had a field trip today and got some sun. I can't believe I've already been in Korea for a month now. I'll be getting my next paycheck at the end of the month, and it won't have training time on it like my last one did. That makes me excited -- it'll be the largest paycheck I've ever received for anything. I'm sure that work is going to get a bit more difficult for me as time goes by. I usually find myself busy from the moment I come in to the moment I leave. There isn't much time to plan in between classes and there is always something keeping me busy when I'd normally have time to plan -- like book report editing. Apparently, I'm very good at fixing students' work and I always find things that other teachers miss. I never told my coworkers I was writing a novel and that I (somewhat) regularly write in this journal, but it makes me smile when I think back to how English always used to be my worst subject.
Every time I feel like I'll have time to write, something comes up. This weekend a friend of mine is having a farewell party and a coworker is also celebrating her birthday party. There goes what was left of my Friday and a good deal of Saturday right there. Sunday is washing and shopping time so I might be able to make some progress then. That's about all I have to say for now.Time to get some sleep. Till later!
