I was never really good at thinking up titles/subjects for journals, updates or artworks so there you go. Random subject is sponsored by an ancient live journal message i posted in a grey and distant past.
For a reason I do not remember i decided to read all my journals from 2004 to now because.. maybe it would be interesting. It turned out to be very interesting, enlightening, details i forgot about who i was refreshed, reasons for my current personality and outlook discerned. It is remarkable how much someone can change. It is also saddening to realize how many people i no longer talk to, people I cared for and still care for, wondering where they went, how they are doing and.. in a selfish respect I wonder if they think about me. On that note i'm fairly sure only a handful (if that) people still actively read their LJ that still carry me on their list. Livejournal seems like an outdated medium, perhaps i should hop on the Facebook/myspace/whateverkidsthesedays bandwagon to share my thoughts. I shall investigate. AND NO NO TWITTER FUCK OFF LONGBOTTLE.
I suppose the important stuff should come first.
In the journal before this one i was talking about how i was losing interest in the subject of professional IT and would wait for the internship to finish before making up my mind. I did, got my diploma (yay me) and am convinced it is a total bore. User support, calling suppliers, writing documentation, auditing configuration items.. Yeah, no, fuck no, I'd rather die than do that the rest of my life.
The internship itself wasn't too bad apart from the subject matter. My co-workers were pretty relaxed, boss too, learned a lot (while i don't care for the professional aspect i still value the knowledge). I got paid as well, not a pittance either so that helped with my overall motivation to do the work even though i didn't give a toss.I completed the internship and graduated a few weeks ago, so I got some time off now.
Next, more school.
Next up is a bachelor level study in Biology and medical science that will last four years, three had my previous study been relevant. Im already signed up and my government free-ride-fund is already set up, so all i need to do is sit on my ass and sweat in the sweltering heat till its time to start.
This wont be easy, they warned me during the intake talk. Mainly because of my lack of post-highschool math/chem/biology studies. I will be taking extra courses and starting a week early than the rest. I remain confident though, these are subjects i like reading about in my free time so i expect to actually LIKE learning about these things. Makes sense.. we'll see though.
Personally.
My personal life is pretty much the same as it has always been as far as online interactions and furries go. People from school i befriended are pretty cool, gaming together and seeing movies, even catching a beer every now and then (found out i am an extreme lightweight x_x). Still, being normals i cant exactly open to them or hope for anything more than what there is now, but that was a given from a start, its cool though.
Sex life.
HAH!
Activities.
Books! Funnily enough my change into a bookworm came from reading stuff most of you would regard as literary thrash. Halo novels! I quickly ran out of books to order online, since there were only four at the time. This is about the time i bothered to see the original star wars trilogy. Long story short, after seeing those movies and buying the first few books of the New jedi order series i ended up with this:
http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/6767/bookshefresize.jpgReading Fate of the Jedi: Abyss at the moment. Can i have my robes now?
Next to these books you can see some serial books by Richard Dawkins and Carl Sagan as well.
I'm still gaming of course, albeit i canceled my eve online subscriptions last week after realizing i had lost complete interest. Those characters will wait for me to return so no worries. Battlefield Bad company 2 has taken the place of Battlefield 2/2142. I also play Anno 1404, Mass effect 2.
Im not watching much as far as TV shows go apart from House. Lost and Battlestar galactica ended fairly recently, both had the WORST ENDINGS EVER. I know that is logically impossible but whatever, both were horseshit. Stargate:universe is the only show i'm really looking forward to, apart from house anyway.
This is possibly my last update here, depending on how i feel about bearing my soul to the world and facebook. :P
