Hmm...can of worms right infront of me, and I didn't know whether to open it or leave it alone. A friend of mine's been trying to get into work where I am at FedEx. I've only just learned that he was considered 'unemployable' by our managers. (I'd like it if he didn't hear about this, kthkx). Was a little confused and mildly purturbed, but I didn't pull the red card out, so I've got some thinking to do. As it is, I intend to dig further into the job hunting category once I'm back from AC. So hopefully I get a good job and can afford a few months worth of friends not having a great job right off the bat.
Sorta trying to make plans for a friend to visit in July if things work out. Still a lot more planning between now and then to deal with. And even then it'd depend on the job thing. If I end up going in with Schneider, having company's kind of moot as I'll be mobile. Though I got ahold of this neat sounding tech support company I'm hoping to hear back from relatively soon...reminds me to check the 'mundane' e-mail listing a little more often as a result of renewed job hunting efforts.
Still interested in the returning to college thing, but I think it's time to put the job search first, and just continue in a class by class basis so that I can focus on paying bills, saving money, and helping friends out and stuff like that. Getting my Bachelors and maybe moving to Canada are still high priorities though. So it's not like I'm totally giving up on thigs :p.
Something else I'm glad I remembered to post about today.
~~~What are YOUR oppinions of the upcoming presidential election? Obama? McCain? Third party candidate that has no realistic chance of getting elected? Or the classic Bugs Bunny write-in approach?
I guess if I were to sit here and be a cynic about it, I don't know if I could vote for either of them. Obama's still someone most people don't know anything about. As a relative newcomer, he could do almost anything. There's been some controversy with the people he surrounds himself with, as well as a few of his beliefs. Sounds like he has plans for local oil drilling, or selling off national oil interests in the gulf and the like to other countries. I haven't really had the time to watch the news or read anything to see what all that is about. And McCain wants to continue the war for oil, and would probably eventually extend it into Iran and or Venesuela if that's to be believed. I think someone else in my friends list said something along the lines of America giving the impression that "if you have oil, you're next". McCain's got the gun policies the NRA's happy with, the real world sence that has most people wondering what rock he's just crawled out from under, and a scope out for oil and corporate America's best interests. I'm not sure Hillary would have been a much better choice.
But again, I'm hardly qualified to talk about politics. Besides, its past 4:30 and I'm kinda tired. I have to work...a lot. So will probalby call this a post unless something else filters into my mind to talk about within the next few minutes.
Anthrocon coming up soon, but most of you already know that. I'll be there from Wednesday to mid Monday, and will probably be busy or roaming around trying to recognize people. I've got backup plans incase the people I'm supposed to stay with can't make it, but it'd still be nice if everything worked out for everyone.
Speaking of conventions, now's a good time for all of you to make plans for Midwest FurFest :P. *nudges Jim and Shaddy* I'm dragging you along if I have to pull ya out of work myself ;). Its about time you two had a good time and enjoyed yourselves. I'm hoping a LOT of the local/regional furs get to make it, as I've been trying to get to know people a little better and stuff. Hard to do when everyone's so busy and no one really logs in or has the time to chat and stuff though. But I'm still around :). As usual, e-mails are probably the best way to contact me, though it's easy for me to not get back to replying for a number of days x.o; I know in this day and age with IM's, everyone sorta expects immediate replys though. Kinda makes keeping in touch difficult sometimes.
That's enough for tonight I guess. Have a good night :P.
