Just now turned 5am on Monday the...*looks*16th, this may be a short post, or I may fall asleep and hit my head on something only to hit send several hours later.
I'm not entirely sure when my last post was...too late to look now. Work the week at FedEx wasn't too bad, the first two days were rather long, the other three were either par average or too short. Gas prices have a tendancy to drop a few cents a day then jump .20 when you least expect it.
There was a big cookout/furmeet thing here in the Greenwood area, we even had a guest of honor. Tig and his daughter Kat made an appearance. I think, honestly, that's the first time I've ever seen the little ankle biter. We totally had a blast trying to get her to smile :P. There were those large fuzzy koosh balls with the lightups on them, there was Ranard in this cute cartoony faced fox suit, there was Frisby, there was a rediculously overstocked feast...(Feeeeaaaassst!) much of which was oddly uneaten o.O. I guess no one wanted to eat my turkey burgers :(.
We made up new uses for those large koosh ball thingies after one of them popped. it went from a wig, to a yamaca when one ripped in half, to some uses I can't type in public, to a face mask that reminded me eerily of "Mankind's" mask from the WWE (Or was he WWF?). I think I need to do that next time I collect a flat one from the arcade :). I wouldn't be bauld for a few minutes, it'd promote a prize, and it'd make me look like I enjoy my job, so there's no way someone would tell me to take it off :p.
The after party was mostly kinda boring, but it was interspersed with some chatting and some fireworks. Things definately got a little better later as MouseKnight pulled out his laptop, hooked it up to Thor's TV (You know what Thor is, think of this instead as a rediculously huge tv, you understand now) and it sorta steered towards something that Socks might do at a convention. Another furson I kinda know wanted to pull me aside and chat for a while, so that totally made my night :). We'd wander and chat in one room, wander and chat in another, went outside and chatted some more, and finally ended up lying down outside looking at the stars and chatting yet more. Yay for free furry therapy :P. I charged a hug but he kinda shied away and decided to sit somewhere else today, so oh well.
For those curious, there was booz, I made a few drinks, and the most I felt after a few drinks was warm. No tingly, no wobbly, no OMG why's the ground falling out from under me. So I guess it's hard to get me tipsy, yay I guess? Sake Does taste different warm, I'd never tried it before, so it was a good way to find out. I will have to agree it's good warm. My coladas, on the other hand, should always be frozen :p. Yay for Pina Coladas. I like getting caught in the rain too, but I doubt many of you will get that song reference.
I slept there, mostly because I hoped I'd wake up in a reasonable time and be able to continue last night's conversation. But alas, 6am rolled around, and I was cold. Me being cold with no way to keep warm usually means I have to go somewhere else. So I snuck out and drove home to sleep. Sadly, that somehow meant I slept on my phone and through both alarms. Thankfully my boss doesn't mind too terribly much, because that just doesn't happen that often. I waltz in (ok, not really) about five minutes after the arcade opens, and it's just the two of us anyhow. She leaves for Shelbyville for a quick call (we have a 24 hour service pledge for a certain area in our district), and had the store all to myself. I'll leave you without the booring details of a semi slow FathersDay work shift.
While at work, however, I wrote out the week's To Do list, of which I think I did maybe two things today. I returned to Toras with the intention of saying hi to whomever was left, gathering all the stuff I'd left, and returning home (For the record, item one on my to do list). Now, Tora and Random were headed to Randoms place to do some electrical work, I can't remember where Pandez was going, and Palmer and his friend from NY were, statistically, more likely to lock themselves into his room than hang out with me, so I thought that'd be a good time to pack up my stuff and go home. It looks like mother nature had intended differently. You remember that dark and ominous storm from the beginning of Flash Gordon? Yeah, that tore through our part of Indiana today. Tora and Random text that they were headed right back, so I decided after packing everything I'd hang around since I'd have people to talk to. Long story short, I log in here at home at just around 4:30 after returning DVD's I needed to return and getting gas (the first of which was on my To Do list). I didn't quite expect to spend the ten hours after work at Toras, so me getting laundry done clearly didn't happen. Since I reclaimed food I'd brought for the cookout (that of which wasn't noshed on today at least), I can forgo grocery hunting for a little while (Yes, grocery hunting, Elmer Fudd hat in the produce section and all :P)
((Don't like my spelling mistakes? That's ok, neither do I. I've been told, however, that if I switched and used FireFox, that it does all that spell check stuff for me, is that true? LJ's spellcheck capability's are kinda lame.))
I lost my train of thought, stomache's not treating me so well...*ponders* Storm Husky was considering driving out to say hi and meet Tora and the others, but then I lost control of the laptop so others could see "Make love, not Warcraft" and "Family Guy Star Wars".
On the subject of Warcraft, I still miss it, (I'm sure you're tired of hearing me say that), but think I'll pay more attention to PoxNora, at least until the Warhammer MMO's come out later in the year. *shrugs* Who knows, my interests weeble and wobble and fall down with great frequency.
So...the weekend wasn't perfect, but it's hard for it to be that much better. Maybe next time :). I did meet some of the new furs, one or two that'd been in the area for some time I somehow didn't know, a few from quite a distance, and a few more that need to speak up and say hi more often. Work wise, I've got the typical M-F for FedEx, and have to hear from the boss sometime today about work for the arcade this week. My folks will be out with a friend in Florida for a good chunk of the week, so I'll be house sitting for them a day or two this week. I'll have to discuss it with the Arcade boss when she calls so I can have Friday morning to do just that.
Otherwise, I guess I'm not particularly sure what else to talk about. Random's good at Guitar Hero, I need to chat more, I need to make more European friends, because it's 5:45 and like, no one has logged in and I haven't heard from anyone that's awake yet. :p. But I guess it gives me time to wander around and try to do the things that should be doing that'll keep me busy and not wake anyone else up.
Aah, in other news, Feral get's to be the manager of his own Village Pantry :). I think that's kinda cool for him, and I really hope it works for him. I also noticed another local got a big kick in the promotional butt lately. He's not a fur (that we're aware of), but he went from being head 3rd shift wait at the local IHOP to third shift manager :). Yay for him. I'll have to tell Shira and Galadon about that.
Speaking of Shira, for the two or three of you that read this that are familiar with the Indy area. What neighborhoods are good places to look for home buying? We're trying to not look at bad neighborhoods, so just about anything else would be in consideration. Shi works for a large trucking company with a base on the east side of Indy, though anywhere within a half hour drive is considered close enough.
I need to pack for Anthrocon, among a long list of other things I should try and have done by the end of the week.
But it's been about an hour, and I'm not sure what else to talk about...that or I've talked for long enough.
I need to make more icons. :)
