I am taking a calculus class this semester and it is from a woman whose origin does not matter, but know that she is not from here. When class let out today, several of the students where going into the almost obligatory, "I didn't understand a single word she said" bit. I have often heard people complain about having trouble understanding their foreign professors. What I do not get is this - she was speaking English. Perhaps the problem really lies within the listener's side.
On the other hand, it is as cold as a "witch's tit" as some might say. Now, I understand that while it is currently 33°F outside, with the humidity it feels like 27°F and technically that is below freezing. SO, I am completely right in saying that it is indeed feels as though it were freezing outside. I hate the harsh reality of waking up in the morning. Especially when it is so warm and comfortable in bed and you know that you have nothing to greet you but the bleakness of the frigid, artic (technically frozen) air to greet you. I can only imagine, as I do not remember myself, how tragic it is to be born. Here you are, in a place where you are surrounded by nothing but warmth and the comfort of your mother's beating heart, then you are forced out into this austere world filled with its harsh light and biting weather.
& to think I say I want to move to the North...
