So here is a video of the song that I'm using for Marriage of Figaro auditions (Prof Brandt said that I should go for this character!) I love the way that this particular woman plays it. It is just so sincere, and bashful, and sexually confused, and I LOVE IT. But I wonder if that is what they are looking for...because everyone was telling me that I should try and make it look manly, take a wider stance, etc...but I watch this video, and it looks very feminine and childish to me. That's how I like it! I mean, Cherubino is supposed to be this awkward, pubescent boy...and he kind of has a lot of sexual ambiguity. I feel like he should almost look like a girl wearing boy's clothing. I guess the trouble with my audition though, is that I'm going to be wearing girl's clothing...so...there's a problem if I want to go for that angle. Anyway, here's the video.

At the part where he's having his little "sexual climax", I was thinking of even collapsing onto the piano a little bit. lol, we'll see. My accompanist might get freaked out. I could send her an email to warn her, I guess.
