First of all, note the majestic glory that is Gerard Souzay's voice.
Second, note the fact that Duparc is a BEAST. What a genius. This guy...suffered from the worst form of perfectionism, in addition to some other mental illness. He hated his work so much that he wound up destroying much of it, leaving only about 17 vocal solos and one duet to speak for his entire career as a composer.
They're some of my favourite art songs that I've heard so far.
P.S. -Yesterday I bought my first pair of boots that I've ever owned! I could never find ones that fit my chubster legs, but these worked (maybe because of the gym?), and they didn't have a painful heel, and they were black suede, and they were reduced to $49 from the original $98.
I just had to get them. They were the only size 9s left. It was a sign.
