An unending pain

The memory was coming back to her. Why had it taken so long to resurface? A million questions flooded her mind. She tried to think on anyone of them. She knew the answers where there in her mind. She had all the pieces; she just had to figure out how they fit together. If only she could think. Stupid headache, if only she could make it stop she knew she could figure it out. Dell left the bar, there were too many people there, perhaps it was a bad idea to come here with papa.
Dell was on the middle of the dance floor almost before she realized what was going on. The room was completely empty except for the DJ. Close your eyes and dance let the world slip away. The answers will come to you. She did, but the answers came more slowly than before, the headache was still there, and nothing really made sense.

Dell returned to the dance floor her mind was spinning, the pain almost unbearable. There was something wrong, papa was upset. He needed her, the happy Dell not the shell of a person she was right now. She spun around the room for a bit trying to get her head right. Trying to be what he needed right now. It wasn’t working; this was pointless nothing would make the pain stop. She stopped dancing but her purse kept moving its contents spilling out onto the floor. Dell sighed and fell to her knees. Slowly she began to gather her things and put them back in her bag.
Everything was gathered. Everything save one item. Dell sat on the floor staring at it. Her hand moved to pick it up, but she stopped herself before she touched it. No, just leave it there you don’t need it. Dell stood up and started to walk away from the accursed thing. She didn’t need it anymore. She got to the door and turned back to look at it, she could think of nothing but the pain. She walked back over to the small knife that lay alone on the dance floor. We can stop this.
