We've had a very happy day, with great news coming in from both high schools.

First, after a difficult transition into high school last year that left Austin with the lowest grades he's ever had, came terrific news.  He had received Principal's List Honors on his last report card (95 or better average, with no grade under 90).  Tonight, the school held the annual undergraduate awards ceremony, where Austin received two awards:

Excellence in the Study of Geometry 10
Excellence in the Performance of Chorus
While we are proud of both awards, the Geometry one is particularly special because he really worked hard to earn it.

Second, after first round auditions, and callbacks for four separate roles, Christina has been given the lead in next year's musical: CURTAINS.  I don't know much about the show yet, other than it is a murder mystery, romantic comedy musical that was on Broadway for about two years, and garnered a Tony Award for David Hyde Pierce.  While it's not Grease or Wicked, as she had hoped for her Senior year, Christina has seen a video of the show, and is very excited to have this part.

As always, we remain very proud of Christina and Austin.  They both are achieving their dreams, and we're having fun experiencing it with them.
