I don`t even like this poem.....but I have been aching lately to write about Fifth Avenue again....
High expectations sit heavy upon my shoulders
Staring knowingly down the darkened road
The streetlights dim, the sun has gone
And now I remain alone.
The snow has started to fall
Each flake hits the slushy roadside
The winter wind is chilling and cold
I watch in vain the moments to pass.
Fifth Avenue is the road I walk.
Every day the streets are empty,
But the road is haunted with ghastly cries
And the ghosts of tomorrow and yesterday wander aimlessly
Departing is not an option.
For I have fallen broken hearted on Fifth Avenue
It is here I shall return…
Always…
It`s all I know
What is Fifth Avenue?
Fifth Avenue is a street in New York...
I`ve never been there...lol
But the name is locked to me since my first poem...
So Fifth Avenue is a mental road...A place all the people who have suffered heart break can visit...once you visit, you never leave...always return...
wtf
