Well, one would expect that my first post after THIMUN would account for the happenings. But no, I've decided to do something fun instead. I'm creating a meme.
The task reads:
You are to make a movie about one of your favourite bands, but to do so, you need actors to fill in the roles. Find actors to play the band members (supporting roles are encouraged, but not mandatory), and preferably supply the entry with pictures. Other optional thing to include would be title drafts, catch phrases, plot synopses and other oddities you might want to add. Just use your imagination.
Since I'd be sitting around all day scourging the 'Net for actors to portray the twelve members that have gone in and out of The Cure I chose Ultravox to get their own movie.
Here's the picture of the incarnation of Ultravox that would get manifested on the big screen:
From left to right: Billy Currie (synth, piano, violin/viola), Midge Ure (lead vocals, guitar, synth), Chris Cross (bass guitar, synth), Warren Cann (drums, drum programming, vocals)
Edit: I have put up some comparison pics now. The real McCoy is to the left - the actor meant to portray him to the right.
Billy Currie would be played by Colin Firth:
-
Just because I see a vague resemblance here, and because he's the only actor I actually have seen acting that would fit the part.
Midge Ure would be played by Edward Norton:
-
If you have any idea how ludicrously similar these two look at times, imagine him actually trying to play Midge!
Chris Cross would be played by Adrien Brody:
-
CC shares at least one predominant facial feature with Mr. Brody, and I've seen another pic of Brody with long hair, where my brain just went "OMG CHRIS CROSS DURING LAMENT!"
Warren Cann would be played by Christian Bale:
-
This is the closest match of all, or at the very least tied with Norton as Midge Ure.
Proposed Movie Title(s):
New Europeans
(It's the title of one of their songs, and it fits so well with their sound and imagery.)
Catchphrases:
They were dancing with tears in their eyes.
But it meant nothing to them.
(Cheesy, I know. But it refers to their two greatest hits: "Dancing with Tears in My Eyes" and "Vienna", respectively.)
If anyone feel that they have something to add, please comment. If you for instance know of any better alternatives for the actors, don't hesitate to leave a note of it.
And
lotiel_vanya, I'm waiting for your Queen movie.
