Perhaps a bit too much and too up-close for the user info page, so...
Hi.
I am 22 years old, 1.93m tall, heterosexual, single, male, and diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome. Born, raised and currently residing in Norway, I am just about as slightly normal as they come. Except I'm not normal.
I belong to the group of teenagers that despises chart music, which already means that the number of people my age with matching musical taste is dwindling. Personally, I prefer a mixture of 70's and 80's rock and pop, mainly early-mid-80's New Wave and rock in most forms from the 60's and up, although I have my standards. Favourite artists and bands include, but is not limited to, the following: Ultravox, Marillion, Peter Hammill, The Cure, Japan, David Sylvian, David Bowie, Yes, Roxy Music, Kate Bush, Saga, a-ha, Soft Cell, Duran Duran, ABC, Adam and The Ants, Enya, Vangelis, The Smiths, The Kinks, The Beatles, The Police, Sting, Dream Theater, Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest...
I like a good film once in a while. As with music, I consider myself an amateur aficionado, and will not call the hottest films 'great' without reason. My favourite films are Blade Runner, A Clockwork Orange, Forrest Gump and Breakfast Club.
I have, as mentioned,
Asperger Syndrome. Therefore, I have very poor working habits and such, but I compensate for it by having a vast arsenal of strange facts and trivia in my head, in addition to being highly creative. I create stories. And lots of them. One of these days, I'll turn them into books or plays, perhaps even a manuscript for a film or something. I am going to pick up on writing fanfiction properly as well, but alas, I do not have the working habits for it. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy...
When it comes to interests, I enjoy drawing, something people tell me I have a talent for. I also like to write songs, sing, (as long as the song fits my register) play keyboards, listen to music, read, and once in a blue moon, writing fanfiction. When it comes to fanfiction, I read lots of stuff regarding games, movies and manga of my interest, although I prefer Final Fantasy (8 and 10) fanfics. There's serious amounts of creativity on the loose there!
For those wondering, I'll list my favourite pairings for FF fanfiction:
FFVIII:
Squall/Rinoa (Some canonical pairings are good, this one is not an exception there.)
Squall/Quistis (Some may frown upon this, but a lot of good stuff is derived from this pairing.)
Zell/Quistis (Where is all the good Zell/Quistis stuff? Tips can be mailed to me.)
Zell/Fujin (Rare, but an entertaining and most interesting coupling...)
Zell/Selphie (The most popular het pairing involving Zell. Fitting, ne?)
FFX:
Auron/Lulu (There can never be enough of this. Fanfics, fanart, more! More!)
Tidus/Yuna (Canonical, yet good. Nothing like Tuna fluff [sounds like mouldy canned fish!])
Wakka/Rikku (This would have made the original plot more interesting, ne?)
Tidus/Rikku (Plenty of innuendo in the game, so why not?)
In addition, I occasionally poke my nose into some Yuri stuff for the heck of it. Which is fine and dandy with both FFVIII and FFX, since girls don't come ugly in these games ;P
As for my Star wars fangeek, suffice to say that I only think seven characters saved Georgie's latest big-screen efforts:
- Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor is a brilliant actor, no doubt!)
- Qui-Gon Jinn (Excellent job, Liam Neeson. Kudos for that.)
- Padmé Amidala (Actually a good actress, but she was given smeg for script.)
- Yoda (See the little green guy fight! Cool!)
- Palpatine (Never underestimate the power of Ian McDiarmid's acting!)
- Darth Tyranus (Christopher Lee rocks! Though it's a pity he was let off so early in Ep.3)
- Mace Windu (Samuel L. Jackson as the most übercool Jedi next to Yoda? HELL YEAH!)
If you didn't guess it, I'm an obvious Obidala shipper no matter how non-canon that pairing is.
Oh, and all Jar-Jar lovers can shut their piehole. He is UNNECESSARY! We have a comic relief in the Star Wars series, the two droids! Ergo he is just about as neccesary to the plot as a fart in a spacesuit. He deserved any and every ignominious course towards death any imagination can summon for him.
Oh, and Anakin Skywalker is, throughout the first two films a whiny, pig-headed, dumb and/or arrogant little brat. In the third one however, he's supposed to be getting evil. Which he does. Yayness. And to all feeling the movie's been spoiled because I said that Anakin will turn evil: I am surprised you even know what LiveJournal is, since you must be severely unenlightened.
When it comes to politics, I am by and large a socialistic democrat. I am pro-abortion but against death penalty. (Just to piss off Dubya's fans) I support gay rights to adoption and marriage. I am for a mixture of private and public schools. I'm against the continuation of the occupation of Iraq. I am for a more controlled supply of firearms and ammunition in the US. I am a supporter of the Third World debt cancellation and lastly, I am against all forms of discrimination based on race, creed, handicaps or gender.
My basic outlook on life is that one is only as happy as one wants to be. Happiness depends on the person, what he/she enjoys doing. I can never be bored, because I can easily occupy myself with something and find enjoyment in that. To sum it up, life's what you make of it, and you can choose to make the most of it.
I could write more, but I won't bother. If you want to know something, read the blog.
So there.
