"Empty orchestra... isn't that hauntingly beautiful?"

Ahhhh how I love a good storm!  =)   Even if I did have to do laundry today. And it'd be so much easier if it was a question of popping the dirty clothes in the washer and then popping them again in the dryer, but, alas, I do not own any of those appliances. And it's no wonder, me being the girl who drank instant coffee for months because she couldn't decide on a new coffeemaker! Ha!  Also, my DVD player died on me recently, and my microwave oven, come to think of it, but I did eventually had it fixed, and it was such a ridiculously tiny mechanical defect, and the Chinese guy at the repair shop charged me the ridiculously high amount of 25 bucks for fixing it! =/   But then, I'm addicted to bagels from New York Bagels Café (and why doesn't this shop have a website, I wonder?), which I buy by the half dozen and then pop them in the freezer to later defrost them one at a time (those things are huge! I can never eat more than one in one sitting) in the micro and eat them piping hot & chewy with cream cheese. So you see, having a broken micro kind of prevented me from feeding my addicition...  Oh I am addicted to coffee, but it was easy to just boil water and pour it onto instant coffee crystals, I guess...

Speaking of pouring, last night I watched an old episode of Alton Brown's Good Eats (Why do I have such a girlie crush on that man, oh wise sensei? Because he's a nerd, and he's cool, and he's funny and his show is chockfull of good fun nerdery & gadgetry, lil grasshopper) entirely devoted to tea. It was lovely. That show's DVDs are way overpriced, though...

And speaking of pouring, again...  it has stopped raining. And now it's hot & humid. Damn. =/    At least now I can actually gather all my dirty laundry and get in the car and drive to mom's to use her washing and drying machines...

And speaking of appliances dying on me, I'm seriously beginning to think there are fairies in this apartment. Or that it's haunted. Or that there are mean-spiritied pixies messing with my stuff.  Heyyy!  Where are you going with my TV remote, hey, stop that you filthy green....!!!!   Ah, dammit!  *sigh*

I'm excited because tonight I'm going to see Marian in her play Karaoke Emocional. And I have already convinced The Usual Suspects™ to go with me, yay! Or at least I think so. =P   I've already seen the play about 14 times already (no, really, more like... eight?). But I love it. And this is the 5th or 6th season, I think. They have played in different venues, but this time it's at La Casona, the same venue I went to two Saturdays ago to see Uva, and it's such a cool place that I can't wait to see her play there!  Plus every showing is a different play, every evening even (alliteration yay!), the play changes with every venue, and this time there's a different actor playing one of the male parts, so...

I had also planned on asking Joe to hang out today just because. Nothing special, just hang out wherever and have coffee and talk. Maybe at NY Bagels. But it's already 1:30 pm and I still have to do housework and blah...  Maybe later?

And tomorrow, Sunday lazy Sunday... another DVD-watching evening, perhaps? More therapy through British comedy series. We still haven't exposed Joe to the awesomeness that is Garth Marenghi's Darkplace.

The title of this post refers to an old episode (The Pineapple Incident) of one of my favorite shows(*), How I Met Your Mother:

Ted: -Why do they call it karaoke anyhow? Was it invented by a woman named Carrie Okie? These are the kinds of things I think about.
Trudy: -Karaoke is Japanese for empty orchestra.
Ted: -That's hauntingly beautiful.

Ahhh gotta love the Ted. =)

(*)As if I didn't have lots of favorites already... *sigh*
