witness

I had just left the parking lot here and was like 1/2 block for the office about to cross through the first intersection right there on the corner. A SUV was making a left turn and the SUV lost it and flipped twice about 3 car lengths from me

I stopped the car , put on the hazards and went running over. He was totally in shock, but not so badly injurred. The seat belt saved him from cracking his skull. The windshield was totally smashed into the car, wheels where crushed, simply stated the car was totalled.

Thankfully he only had minor injuries but he was flipping out. I got into the suv with him and started talking to him, put my hand on his shoulder and tried to keep him calm. After a minute or so he got really antsy and just wanted out of the vehicle.

It was surreal. He was talking like a zombie...muttering a bit. Kept saying he was fine.

He wanted out so bad that he climbed out his driver side window. He then flipped out a bit once he was out kind of flailing his arms and yelling fuck, but quickly regained his composure.

Poor guy was a mess emotionally. He was really upset about the car.

I sat with him for like 45 minutes trying to keep him calm. He was so hopped up on adrenaline. After it was over and the ambulance and stuff came i was able to freak out a bit myself. Left me all tight in the neck and a bit shaky. I think i held it together for him pretty well. He seemed thankful for the support.

Could have been way worse. I bet his back and neck are going to suck tomorrow though.

I REALLY want to go and get certified in CPR. After i got back in here it really struck me how little i could have done for him if he had been seriously injured. Besides talking softly and laying my hands on him I was pretty much useless. Thats really frustrating.
