I enjoy how in reality TV they're still performing even when theoretically not performing, so you think they're in normal space but it turns out stage rules still apply. Like, they're in a chatty, converse-semi-normally section, but it's actually still everyone's characters talking to each other. And their characters are, of course, based as closely as possible on their real personalities while still reading well on TV, at least once the people who don't get it have been voted off whichever island this particular show is on.

What I'm saying is, the phrase reality TV is an oxymoron, and therefore the shows are total mindfucks. I enjoy it.
