Ada didn't even remember walking back to the table where her sister sat, she blinked and she was there, staring back into her sister's worried green eyes, "He found us."
Those three words were all it took for Mia to snap the laptop closed, eyes crazy with questions, "What'd he say?!"
"He wanted to see how far we'd be willing to go." Ada repeated the man's words.
"How far..." Mia's eyes lit up with fury, "How far we'd be willing to go for what?!"
Ada wished she knew, she really did.

Ada and Mia had booked a motel for the night, hauling themselves up in the room, having had enough with the weird stares and unwelcoming aura coming from those they had come across while in town.
"Hey Mia." Ada called out after a long silence had taken over the room, the only thing heard was the click clacking of Mia typing on the keyboard of the laptop.
"Yeah Ada?" She answered without looking up.
"You noticed it too, right? The way the people looked at us." Her blue eyes gazed over at her sister who had torn her eyes away from the screen of the computer to look at Ada.
"Yeah Ada, I noticed it." She said before returning to her typing.
"You also noticed the cameras too, right?"
Mia paused.
That... that was something she had not noticed.
"Cameras?"
Ada nodded, "Security cameras. They were on practically every street."
"Maybe..." The rest of Mia's sentence was inaudible to Ada.
"Maybe what?"
Mia placed the laptop on the bed, turning towards Ada who was now all ears and at full attention, "Maybe that's why everyone's so afraid to make a wrong move."
"The cameras?" Ada watched as Mia nodded confidently, "They're afraid of whoever set those cameras up."
"Exactly."
"So... who put the cameras there in the first place?" Ada questioned.
(So, I don't know if you were thinking the same thing as I was, but I was thinking the mystery man in the suit could be the Max Jr. person. It was just a thought that crossed my mind as I was typing this and I thought it might be a cool twist.)
(Very nice. Okay I had this idea and I want to see where it takes us. And yea, gotta love the drama.)
They couldn't figure out an answer and were left staring at the blank cream color walls. It was the only place where the quiet of the town didn't give her a headache.
Out of habit she turned on the news. A man in a suit and tie with suns in sunglasses on it was grinning with a perma-smile and pointing at the screen behind him. "Very hot this week, record breaking temperatures. You're going to want to wear extra sunscreen and stay near a pool. Keep hydrated!"
The screen flipped to another man and woman sitting at a desk. The regular six o'clock news. On the bottom it said the date and the time. It was her birthday.
She didn't usually celebrate. They got a cake on her sweet sixteen because that's the kind of thing you do but never after that. She usually bought herself something and wrapped it up. She usually opened it in the bathroom while the shower ran so her sister couldn't hear her cry.
Turtle's birthdays were always better. She bought balloons and a cake and presents. Wherever they were. And if they were on a job, she pretended like the next day was her birthday, like it was normal.
On that day she could pretend that her parents had left her in charge for a day while they ran errands or did something majorly important. She could try to give her sister something she knew they would have if they were home.
The screen flashed again with a red bar BREAKING NEWS.
"Very devastating news out of Sacramento. The bodies of two missing girls, Mia and Ada Quinn were discovered today. An anonymous tip was placed to the Sacramento Police Department about a mysterious looking pile in the woods behind a local park. Construction workers have been using that area to dump extra dirt that have become unearthed in the construction of a new park center. Authorities say that the cause of death for the two sisters is yet to be determined but because of the dental records they confirmed in fact that it was the Quinn girls. We go now to Sacramento where a candle light vigil is being held."
They showed the park from the other day where people were gathering again except this time with candles. She felt her heart go out to these people.
"It's so sad and terrible," One woman said. "Maybe it will finally give closure to the families."
It showed a few people walking. Mia got up off the bed where she had been curled up. It looked like Jocelyn but a man was blocking her from the camera's view. "Would you like to comment on the tragedy?" The reported said.
"Can you get that camera out of our faces?" The man, whose face was pale and had some stubble said.
"Jake," Mia whispered. She wanted to reach out through the TV. She remembered something, from far away, a memory? He loves you, you know? He keeps the picture they handed out when you taken in his wallet. He's going to be an FBI agent and work on finding missing kids. He wants to find you and your sister.
She took a sharp intake of air and ran a hand through her hair. This was not good.
The TV switched to another story about a homeless shelter almost burning to the ground. Another tragedy, another story, that's how it always is.
"What the hell are we going to do now?"
She sat down. Austin was a dead end. They did all the research possible. Obviously the guy was watching them. Obviously he had just destroyed any hope they had of going to their family now. He took the dental records, fudged them obviously and killed two little girls to make it look like it was them. He was smart and diabolical.
She didn't want to but they had to go back to Sacramento. They had to stay close.
"I don't know, maybe we can pretend to be FBI agents or something? It's the only cover we have. Then we look into this company from there. He'll come find us and when he does, I want to be ready."
