[Yuri is holding out the SFC at some distance, far enough so viewers can see he’s in the park.]

I think I’ve been here about a week now? In the span of that, I’ve kicked some pirates’ asses, done some small jobs, wandered around, and ate mocha ca-well, that’s not important. Just wondering if anyone’s up for being sentimental about the past; I ( Read more... )

Sentimental, huh?

[ Raven grins, shaking his head. ]

I think I've given you enough sentimentality, kid.

Oh you bet. If there's anything you should remember, it's why we punched you out.

[His tone shifts to one that's semi-joking, semi-serious, somehow.]

... But on the off-chance you'll want to share how your life became a train wreck, I'm all ears. And a fist, if need-be.

[ He tries to plaster the smile onto his face, but it's not really all that successful. ]

Pretty sure you already know that story.

... And to think some wonder why I have a hard time finding people to respect.

[It's... kind of awkward both of them are trying to make light of the situation; both are having a hard time, clearly.]

Remember how I grew up with an innkeeper? People came to her to vent all the time. I doubt I'm nearly as good as her at listening--much less understanding, but... yeah, complaining might make you feel better.

[He snickers a little, just whispering to himself this time.] ... I can't believe I'm encouraging you to whine more.

[ Raven laughs, shaking his head and crossing his arms. There's a lightness to the conversation, but under that there's tension, like a fine wire, and it seemed impossible to break. ]

You've heard this old man's story, kid. There's nothin' else that I can complain about.

[ Except there is, there's so much more, but that's personal and he hasn't told anyone. ]

Then complain over and over, 'til you feel better. If ever.

[When he said it with his smug smile, it was really straightforward. And almost childish. But sincere, as Yuri always was when he cared. Not that he'd admit that to the Old Man, of all people.]

Feelin' pushy today?

[ He shrugs his shoulders, smiling to himself. He was almost touched. ]

Old Raven's happy here, Yuri. Nothing to say.

What? I've got nothing better to do.

[Yuri looks away with a slight huff, there really were times even he couldn't say stuff like that straight to the someone's face. Without missing a beat, he too shrugs. He didn't believe the Old Man, but he really really sucked at these kinds of conversations, it's probably safer to not get any more pushier than he already was.]

Keep being that way.

I'm planning to. Not gonna go around makin' myself sad, am I?

[ No, the city was doing that well enough. Seeing ghosts of lovers was more than enough. ]

I'm fine here, kiddo, and my life still belongs to Brave Vesperia. I'm sure whatever you kids get up to will make me happy enough.

... In the end, I guess it's kinda my fault for bringing it up.

[Yuri looks like he stopped himself just before finishing it up with an apology. He listens to Raven for a few more seconds, chuckles at the mention of the guild, and promptly cuts off his SFC.]
