[ Raven grins, shaking his head. ]

I think I've given you enough sentimentality, kid.

[His tone shifts to one that's semi-joking, semi-serious, somehow.]

... But on the off-chance you'll want to share how your life became a train wreck, I'm all ears. And a fist, if need-be.

[ He tries to plaster the smile onto his face, but it's not really all that successful. ]

... And to think some wonder why I have a hard time finding people to respect.

[It's... kind of awkward both of them are trying to make light of the situation; both are having a hard time, clearly.]

Remember how I grew up with an innkeeper? People came to her to vent all the time. I doubt I'm nearly as good as her at listening--much less understanding, but... yeah, complaining might make you feel better.

[He snickers a little, just whispering to himself this time.] ... I can't believe I'm encouraging you to whine more.

[ Raven laughs, shaking his head and crossing his arms. There's a lightness to the conversation, but under that there's tension, like a fine wire, and it seemed impossible to break. ]

You've heard this old man's story, kid. There's nothin' else that I can complain about.

[ Except there is, there's so much more, but that's personal and he hasn't told anyone. ]

[When he said it with his smug smile, it was really straightforward. And almost childish. But sincere, as Yuri always was when he cared. Not that he'd admit that to the Old Man, of all people.]

[ He shrugs his shoulders, smiling to himself. He was almost touched. ]

Old Raven's happy here, Yuri. Nothing to say.

What? I've got nothing better to do.

[Yuri looks away with a slight huff, there really were times even he couldn't say stuff like that straight to the someone's face. Without missing a beat, he too shrugs. He didn't believe the Old Man, but he really really sucked at these kinds of conversations, it's probably safer to not get any more pushier than he already was.]
