Meridiana is still functioning perfectly, though she continues to not remember a single detail of her past. I am glad of that much.

Unfortunately, my superiors learned of her clairvoyance very likely by stealing my notes and have decided to use it for profit. They're advertising her as a psychic and scheduling her to make appearances at high- ( Read more... )

A twelve year-old assistant? I think there's laws for stuff like that, isn't there, old man? Teeheehee!

Delilah's never really cared too deeply about laws.

And it turns out I'm mistaken, he is not actually twelve years old, despite his appearence.

Oh. Well, then I guess it would've worked out either way!

So, like, what do you do anyway? I'm getting a big Zombie Creator vibe from all that talk about this psychic girl rotting away!

I suppose. I'm still stuck with him, however.

I'm a doctor. I work for an organization called Delilah, which develops new ways of raising the dead.

Oooh, so I was right! That is pretty genius, if you ask me. Our army has dabbled in cloning people, but if we could raise the dead...! Teeheehee! That would be mind-blowing!

Thank you. We've been working on these methods for many years now. We've learned multiple ways of accomplishing resurrection.

Your army uses clones?

There's more than one way to do it? Neeeeeaat! Not my expertise, but still pretty creepy and cool all the same, teehee!

Sorta. It takes a ton of energy to power the machine that makes them, but we do now and then when the time calls for it. They die waaaaay too fast, though. They'll probably last as long as one battle then disintegrate into a puddle of icky stuff!

This is the second successful method, though we've been developing others as well.

Then why clone them to begin with?

The more the better, I say!

Beats me! It was our ex-leader's crazy idea. Maybe he just wanted to mess with our enemy's stupid little brains. Maybe he thought using their own strengths against them would help us. I don't really care why, to be honest!

And why don't you care?

Dunno, it's just not my problem! It was his idea to use the stupid clones, which ended up failing anyway!

And who's he, the one that decided to use the clones?

His name was Sturm, but he's kinda dead now! Teeheehee! We got a new boss, Von Bolt, and he uses the clones too.

Seems like a waste to keep using them.

I guess it is, but whatever! It's not my problem!

No, I suppose it isn't.
