One of the problems that assist in my lack of social life is that I am a really good listener. I mean that I feel just as engaged in a conversation by listening to it instead of trying to participate in it by talking.
This is a problem when meeting a new group of strangers. I don't say anything to them.
I'm not as bad about only listening when I'm one-on-one with somebody. But I'm also terrible at small talk.
And I won't even mention the times when I actively do not want to talk at all in any situation. My family hates it when I'm giving them the silent treatment.
So even when I get out of the house, I'm such a social disaster. I might as well stay home.
