back in the Sing, 2010

It's really awesome to be back in Singapore for Chinese New Year. I mean, apart from the deathly long commute (16 hours to HK, 4 hour layover, 4 hours to SG), and the frighteningly solid wall of heat and humidity first encountered on exiting Changi Airport. Particularly since it had just started snowing heavily when we were leaving Toronto.

Within hours of arrival on Thursday just past noon, I'd had my hair cut and highlighted, Jeff had a moment to lie in the sun and swim; and we'd had a yummy chili crab dinner next to the longkang at the intersection of Clementi and Ulu Pandan Roads (near Sunset).

On Friday we met crysta for Pepper Lunch at Suntec. Gerald's given me a Pentax K10D which needs a wee bit of servicing, but when we got to Peninsula Plaza, the place had closed for the holidays. So we went walkies. All manner of strange things were discovered.

The aliens have landed; take me to your leader.

What's in there?

Massive tombstones.

Baking in the heat in the shade of the CBD, or something.

Something, something under the bridge - RHCP

We like our alleys.

Jeff contemplates the meaning of satay (42 .. 6 mutton by 9 beef sticks?)

Chinatown wiggly turtles.
We're still heavily jetlagged, which means heading to bed around 9.30 every night (sorry, cheshirefeline). I don't know if I'm looking forward to kicking the jetlag and then having to adjust again when I get back to Toronto.

Meanwhile, Happy Chinese New Year. I hope to see more of you soon.
