(no subject)
Its been SUCH a long time since I've updated. I feel lame. Summer can be so distracting, its crazy. On the sewing front I didn't do anything at all untill recently. I started up my 18c. jacket again, but was halted by the fact that my lining/pattern completely didn't fit AT ALL. I'm having to just cover up all the bare edges with bias tape now which is SO LAME, but I suppose this time it can't be the inside that counts. ITs still promising to be a pretty jacket, and I really like how the cuffs that I did worked out. I'll try to post pictures of that later this week.
I also made a shirt from a built by wendy pattern. ITs a blue and red calico print with red buttons, and has a very vintagey feel. I'll post pictures of that too, as well as what pattern it was. Right now i'm too lazy to get technical.
I've been really distracted all summer by boy problems, and now all the realities of real life are setting in. My biggest reality, however, is the fact that I'm leaving in 22 days to head to Belgium for my Discipleship Training School with Youth With a Mission. If anyone recalls I'm doing a missionary training school for three months and then humanitarian work for three months. I was supposed to do my school in Brussells, Belgium, but had to actually relocate muself to Lausanne, Switzerland (Near Geneva). I'm a little scared because I wasn't able to change my flight and now am going to travel by myself in Europe for about five days before going to Switzerland. This was something I always wanted to do anyway, but when I imagined myself traveling alone, alone always just meant without my parents. LOL, I ussually imagine an independent traveling experience with some sort of friend :) Yay adventure! My 19th birthday is coming up on the fifth, so thats also exciting.
EDIT: Ok, this entry was written a REALLY lng time ago and never posted. I promise I am still alive though. Since this entry Ive been in Brussels (FAB costume museum there laidies!!!!) and now am living in Switzerland. Since im a part of aChristian organization here, Ive been doing quite a bit more soul searching than traveling. HOwever we have free weekends so Im off the The Chateau De Chillon today!
Ive been desperate to sew, especially since Ive acheived nothing that past oh... six months (AAHHHHHH!!!!!), and discovered there was a sewing machine here. Im considering taking up a simple project like a edwardian shirtwaist or something. When I actually know what I am doing, Ill post about it...
Still, just know that I am around and reading journals. Ill be more of a lurker than a contributor though. I love everyones journals. Ill probely begin to comment some since I have access to a computer.
