Anyway, TO summarize what I had typed before, I've had all sorts of drama with my mom this past week or two (you may have noticed we just have drama. period.), in which I was being haughty, she was being haughty, I would offer to design her regency ball gown for our upcoming ball, but I would be using a "tone" etc.
Needless to say she DOES want my help with the dress. After all the dance is NEXT WEEKEND! SO I have officially started yet another Regency that both my mom and I shall be going in on. So tonight while all you chicadees are cozy in bed I will be whiling away at my machine creating something I hope will be wonderful...
Here is the plan. We'll be using this butterick pattern which I think is pretty typical to use (the one on the right) and the dress will be out of some muted deep green that isn't fabulous on the bolt but will suffice for the occasion and should make a pretty dress (if I have anything to do with it!).

http://www.songsmyth.com/paintings/whiteempiregownwfur.jpg I really like the gathered sheer part in the neckline of the actual dress, and though I don't know exactly how ball gownish it will be, I figure that If I make the neckline rather low and than the voile for "modesty purposes" it will took a bit french regency, n'est pas? I also may do some beading with some garnets my mom has around the neckline. That is, If I have time!
For the sleeves I will being doing a three quarter sleeve or a bit shorter with some more voile sticking out and gathered and then, of course, some garnets.
I'm really not too worried on the historically accuracy of these gowns I'm making for other people. Is that selfish? I feel like I'm depriving them of something! LOL. Well thats the plan, I really hope everything works out.
PS. If you haven't tried Gummy Bear Vitamins, don't. They are addicting and I think I am about to overdose on Vitamin C.
