So apparently on the Helmuth family e-mail my cousin Shawn announced his courtship with another young lady from his church. It doesn't bother me that much that my cousin is going to be seriously dating a girl, but it does bother me when my conservative Mennonite family actually still practice the type of courting used in the 18th or so century. You know, go to the girls dad, butter him up, get to know him, get to know what he thinks, ask him about dating his daughter, consult the girl, announce a courtship, and voila in 6 months your married! (or thats at least what my mom said).

I'm so glad I'm not dating anyone right now. Life is just to hectic to do so. ^^;
