I Don't Care” Three Days Grace, Ross/Nichols
Zach stood at the front of the gravestone, eyes trained on the cold marble, as if watching it keep it from walking away.
He tried to tell himself that he doesn't care, that the dead is not his to grieve.
He tried to tell himself that it would have happened anyway, that he couldn't do anything to change it.
Up until the point that Danny Ross' body was lowered into the ground, he had thought he had been successful in fooling himself.
When the last of the mourners had finally left, Zach collapsed in front of the final resting place of his boss, friend and former lover, and cried.

“Take Me Back” Story Of The Year, Ross/Nichols
Zach showed up on his door one night soaking wet, and Danny let him in without asking questions. It had been a rough day for both of them, so Danny didn't question when Zach didn't even bother with pleasantries, and instead just kissed him roughly, the taste of the rain still on his lips as his tongue pressed harshly against Danny's bottom lip, begging for entrance. Zach's hand reached down and grabbed Danny between the legs. He swore, his mouth opening slightly as he spoke, and Zach's tongue invaded, poking and prodding and generally making it very hard for Danny to think straight.
It was only when Zach started frantically and roughly tugging and pulling at his jeans in a way that almost hurt did Danny's thought straighten out, and when he was able to form coherent sentences he finally said something.
“What happened?” He asked, reluctantly stopping Zach's cold hands from their relentless battle with his zipper.
Zach's eyes darkened, and he pulled away, scowling. “I need a drink.”

'Send My Love To The Dance Floor' Cobra Starship, Ross/Nichols
Danny didn't see what dancing and their undercover assignment had to do with each other.
That didn't stop Zach from casually tugging him over to the packed dance floor, however.
They were performing an undercover operation on a gay bar, one that was well known for supplying its couple patrons with drugs to enhance the sexual experience. Zach and Danny were playing the part of one such couple.
Zach had been enjoying the assignment, almost too much, in Danny's opinion. There hadn't been a single moment that night where Zach's hand hadn't been on him, either resting on his back, caressing the inside of his thigh or playing with the buttons on Danny's shirt. He had said they needed to appear convincing. That had been his reasoning after Danny had first shot down his offer to dance, and Danny could (vaguely) see his point.
They needed to grab the attention of one of the bartenders (who were the ones who offered the drugs,) and apparently under the table fondling wasn't going to cut it.
Though, Danny thought hazily, does he really have to be so close? Zach had quickly taken control of the dancing situation, and was now pressed up as close as propriety, and clothes, could allow.
It was driving Danny insane and he had thought he would be glad when it was over.
Ten minutes later, the words,“ NYPD, freeze!” rang hollow from his lips, and he felt suddenly a sudden longing.

“Your New Twin Sized Bed”-Deathcab For Cutie, Ross/Rodgers
It had been a month since, and Liz had yet to clear out Danny's belongings. The shirt he had been wearing the night before was still lying crumpled on the floor in the bedroom. His side of the bed was still unmade, and the corner of the book he had been reading could still be seen peeking out from under the pillow. In the bathroom, his toothbrush was still hung on the tooth rack, next to the strange cinnamon toothpaste he liked so much. The bottle of wine he had bought for them still sat on the counter, gathering dust.
Liz realized that something had to be done.
That night, she curled up on the bed she hadn't slept on in a month, wearing his old shirt.

“Summer Skin”- Deathcab For Cutie, Though no names are stated, its Ross/Rodgers.
His hands were cool on her bare skin, and she shivered as his fingertips traced patterns along her lower back.
The summer was brutal in Manhattan, and she and he had escaped to the relative coolness of the bathroom in her apartment. They were lying in the bathtub, naked save the cold water that covered them.
“This was a good idea.” He murmured in her ear, his breath tickling the skin, and she had to agree, especially as he pressed his lips to hers. Their tongues mingled, and she could taste cinnamon and coffee on his breath.

“Give It To Me”- Three Doors Down Nichols/Large Cop *Who could that be? ;) *
Zach couldn't say that this situation was familiar, being shoved roughly up against the wall by a sexually aroused fellow cop. Well, actually, he could, but he was usually the instigator in said situation, not the one pinned and helpless against the unrelenting assault.
It felt really good.
It was thrilling, to say the least, when he finally met someone who could do that to him.
His hands were rough and calloused, but Zach couldn't complain as they toyed with his bare skin, and he was beyond voicing anything after his zipper had been pulled down and those calloused hands had...
Oh fuck.

“The Final Farewell”- Bayside, Ross/Nichols
“Danny.”
He attempted, trying valiantly, to wipe the devastated expression off of his face. “What?” He asked over his shoulder, shoving his hands into his pockets in a vain attempt to keep them from shaking. He was irritated; Zach was leaving, completely out of the blue, because he wanted to “discover the meaning of life”, and he felt that jumping on the fastest plane would help him solve the riddle. Because he was being a complete idiot and...
“Hey.” Danny felt a light hand on his shoulder, and he turned to see Zach standing right in front of him. His irritation bubbled and he opened his mouth to say something, but Zach got there first. “One for the road,” he murmured and pressed his mouth to Danny's , effectively cutting off any objections. Danny resisted at first, but as Zach's tongue brushed softly against his bottom lip he moaned and kissed him back.
After a few minutes, Zach pulled away, eyes dark and lips swollen, and Danny expected him to say something to lighten the situation, to make the inevitable goodbye easier. Instead, Zach just smiled weakly, his brown eyes filled with something similar to regret. “One for the road.” he repeated, and then was gone.

'Take Me Under' - Three Days Grace, Ross/Nichols
Zach pushed Danny back against the edge of the bed, and the force caused the smaller man to fall back with a grunt, which turned into a groan as Zach straddled him.
“Fuck, Zach, what part about 'not tonight' confuses you?” Danny groaned, his voice gaining a pitch as Zach began expertly unzipping his jeans with one hand. His other hand had Danny's wrist pinned above his head, making it near impossible for him to try and retaliate.
“The 'not' part, I think.” Zach mused, lightly biting his tongue as he moved, only long enough to take his own jeans off, and then he was back to straddling Danny. He smiled lopsidedly, and then returned to divesting his partner of his jeans. Danny sighed and fell back against the bed, smirking despite himself.
