Dear Mr. Gillepsie,

Rest assured, no apologies are necessary or desired on my part; I am delighted to have received your response, to a missive that was both impertinent and intrusive. You are correct to presume that I have not personally experienced the vein of madness you describe, and, at least a part of my purpose in assembling the questionnaire was to gain better understanding through personal inquiry of this phenomenon bedeviling the vast majority of the citizenry. Therefore, I am deeply honored that you would entrust with me the knowledge you have gained through such hardship. Whether you would prefer to continue our correspondence in the current medium, or if you would like to discuss these matters in person, is a decision I will leave to you. Whatever you decide upon, I will eagerly await your response.

Sincerely,
Mabel Watts

Dear Miss Watts,

As I would rather not put the matter into a tangible and thus universally legible form, I suggest we meet for a personal interview. I will make myself available to you at your convenience, though admittedly such matters are better suited to what passes, here, for daytime. I also suggest that, so as not to arouse undue attention, we conduct our discourse in a variable location.

With anticipation,

G. Gillespie

Dear Mr. Gillespie,

I am amenable to this plan of action, and will look forward to meeting you in person. May I suggest for our meeting the chess boards at Tyrant's Park? It is a place that I frequent and so would not draw especial attention; however, if you would prefer a different location, do let me know. Otherwise, I will be there an hour before noon tomorrow.

With gratitude,
Mabel Watts
