See, the idea that had first come to mind had really sounded like a good idea, who didn’t want to be a knight as they were growing up? Or one of Robin Hood’s merry men? Aiba had been excited to step into the Boutique that was

Sho nodded as the other slid out of the saddle. "That's probably a good idea," he agreed, dismounting and following the other man to the bushes on the side of the road. "We don't want the horses to get hurt, or scared away. We still need them." Tying the reins to one of the branches, Sho pulled his sword from its sheath and turned to look at Aiba, trying to ignore the slightly apprehensive look on the other man's face. "Ready?" Sho set off, trying to walk as quietly as possible in his chain mail, not even waiting for an answer. he knew Hf he didn't go now, he probably wouldn't be able to convince himself to go at all.

"Yup! Before either of us run with our tails behind our legs~" Aiba let out a cheerful laugh as he tried to keep the mood light, taking a jump towards Sho and tugging the other lightly to go off and around to where the entrance to the cave was more than likely located.
His grip tightened on the hilt of his sword, getting a feeling for the slightly heavy weapon as he felt silent. Trying to think back to all the movies he'd watched, anything that might help defeat a dragon. Even though hollywood and real had nothing to do with one another.
Turning to glance at Sho every so often, making sure the other was still behind him, he offered a comforting smile. "At least we're going to have one hell of a story to tell when we get back. Remind me that drinks are on me." If we get out of here alive. That last part was better left unsaid.

The grin steadied for a bit, but only for a moment, as Aiba mentioned going out for drinks. It would be nice to see the other man in the real world, when they weren't lost or confused or facing a hungry dragon. It would be very nice. Sho tried to cling to that thought, cling to thinking about after they defeated the dragon, as they continued to walk toward the mountain.
Catching sight of a cave on the side of the mountain, Sho pulled on Aiba's arm, motioning for the other to stop. Crouching behind some bushes, he surveyed the landscape around the cave, and the cave itself. The land was pretty open it would be hard, but not necessarily impossible to sneak up to the dragon in it's lair. Turning to Aiba, Sho lowered his voice to a whisper, "You go to the right, and I'll swing around to the left, right in front of the cave's opening to catch the dragon's attention. Then you can sneak behind and attach it?" Sho raised his eyebrows, half hoping that Aiba approved of the plan. The other half still hoped that Aiba had a better plan.

"Right! Uh, that...sounds like a plan!" He kept his voice low, just in case the dragon has super power hearing and could hear them talking... Aiba's mind was already starting to get the best of him. Reaching over, he gave a squeeze to the other's arm. This was, unfortunately the only plan that they had.
"Sorry, don't have much of anything that would help," muttering his quick apology to not adding to the plan, he pushed himself up and with one last glance and a 'good luck' Aiba was moving to get into position.

Sho watched Aiba move away to get into position, whispering a 'good luck' that probably didn't reach the other man's ears. Sho remained frozen in place for a moment, his face unreadable as he willed himself to move. It was more than likely that this was the scariest thing he had done in his whole life, and (if he had his way) would never do something this scary ever again. Never again.
Taking a deep breath, Sho stood up, tightening his grip on the sword. The palms of his hands were starting to get sweaty. Sho walked slowly out into the open, step by hesitant step, until he stood just yards in front of the dragon's cave. It was dark, almost pitch black. Sho couldn't make out whether or not anything was inside. He almost hoped that the dragon wasn't there, that it was out doing dragon things or that the directions they were given were wrong somehow. It was too late to back out now, not when Aiba was already getting himself into place. "OY, DRAGON!" he shouted, his voice trembling a bit, steeling himself for if, and when, the dragon made its appearance.

Nothing.
Looking over to Sho, he pushed himself away from the wall and tried to get the other man's attention. "Toss a rock!" He cupped a hand to the side of his mouth, trying to keep his voice hushed and at the same time heard by the other. His free hand making the motion of tossing something to give the other the idea, just in case he wasn't understood with his words.

Sho was tempted to yell back that he didn't want to throw a rock at the dragon. It was bad enough that he was standing at the mouth of a dragon cave, yelling, but throwing a rock might aggravate it. Sure, he was supposed to be acting as dragon bait, but his nerve was starting to run out. His brain was finally catching up with the events of the day, and his brain didn't like what it saw.
In the end, Sho saw no other option. His face contorted in a pained expression, he bent down to pick up a good sized rock near his face. Taking a deep breath, Sho threw the rock as hard as possible into the mouth of the cave. The rock echoed as it hit the stone floor. Picking up another rock, Sho threw it into the dark cave. Another echo. It almost seemed that the cave was empty. Sho took a couple steps closer to the cave, peering inside, but it was still too dark to see anything. Silently motioning for Aiba to follow him, Sho continued to creep closer to the cave's entrance.

He let out a sharp hitched breath as the other finally seemed to get was he was trying to say and picked up a rock. Sho tossed the rock into the dark cave. Then disappointingly nothing happened. And again, another rock, and nothing. It didn't sound like there was anything inside.
Letting out a shaky breath, Aiba moved from his hiding spot and followed the other closer to the entrance of the cave. Hands reaching out to Sho's arm, a little bit of comfort in knowing that he wasn't alone in this.
"Maybe the townspeople are crazy and there's really no such things as dragons?" He leaned towards Sho's ear and whispered his words before looking back. He thought he heard...something. "Did you hear anything?"
Reply
He froze at Aiba's question. Hear? Something? Sho, in fact, did not hear anything. He had been too focused on the possibility, on the hope, that the dragon was a myth. That didn't stop Sho from freaking out, however. "N-no?" Sho replied shakily, clinging even harder to Aiba's arms. Despite the fact that he wanted nothing more than to run far away, Sho peered into the entrance of the cave, suddenly jumping back with a yell. "I-I saw something!" Sure he couldn't say what he saw. It was more of a dark shadow in the dark cave, but it was something and it had moved.

"A-are you sure? I...I can't see anything?" Voice hushed as he shifted closer to the other man's ear. His fingers gripped Sho tighter, trying to force himself to stay rooted to the ground and not drag Sho back and get as far away as possible. "Maybe, maybe you should toss in another rock?" Just to be sure... Though, something in the pit of Aiba's stomach was telling him it wouldn't be a good idea.

"B-but I don't want to throw another rock," Sho replied weakly, his voice barely a whisper. Not paying attention to his common sense, Sho bent over, picking up a third rock, then throwing it into the cave. He waited for a few breathless moments, hoping that they would hear a third empty echo, that the cave would be empty and they could go home again. Instead, the rock hit something soft before bouncing onto the ground, a quiet yelp coming out of that 'something soft.' Sho stood there dumbstruck. That did not sound like something that would come from a dragon, not even a little dragon. It sounded more like... a dog?
Curiosity getting the better of him, Sho pulled himself away from Aiba, cautiously walking to short distance to the mouth of the cave. He let out a nervous laugh as he saw the occupant of the cave, a cute little brown and white dog. "There's no dragon!" Sho yelled back at Aiba, feeling almost limp with relief. Approaching the dog, he hoped that it wasn't dragon bait or, he thought irrationally, something they had to slay instead of a dragon. Sho leaned over slowly to pet the dog, noticing that there was a note tucked under it's collar. He quickly scanned the letter, glancing over at the dog and taking in the word 'dragon' etched into the leather collar. Looking up from the letter, Sho laughed loudly, wondering how they got things so wrong. "This wasn't a mission to slay a dragon. We're supposed to bring the princess's dog named Dragon back to her!"

The yelp brought him back from his thoughts, and even caused him to jump back. Startled by the noise which was far too small to have come from any dragon. Unless it was a baby dragon? Or something...His head jerked up at Sho's realization to what was inside the cave as the 'scary beast' finally appeared.
"They wanted us to rescue...her...dog?" Aiba cocked his head to the side, blinking blankly at the animal that looked at them from the entrance. Part of him was disappointed that there was no dragon, and still very relieved. It took him a moment to pull himself back before he was bouncing over to the dog and Sho, hands going out to ruffle at the soft fur. "And such a pretty puppy too~ Princess should learn to take better care of her pets."

As Aiba joined him in the cave, Sho suddenly broke into hysterical laughter. The other's seemingly normal comment seemed ridiculous in light of the day's events. The heavy weight of the armor suddenly became too heavy for Sho's tired body to support, and he collapsed onto the ground with a loud clang of armor. Gasping as he tried to stop laughing and control his breathing, Sho pulled off his helmet. "I-I don't think I need this anymore," he commented, breathless and limp with relief that there was no real dragon.

"Not done yet, you know. They're going to want you to marry the princess!" Aiba teased, still a bit breathless from all that laughing. He fell back onto his behind when his legs started to feel like they could use a good rest. It was a few more moments did he completely fall backwards, spread out on the uncomfortable gravel, not that he really cared. Eyes falling up to the fluffy clouds as Dragon sniffed at his hand, demanding for more petting.

Sho briefly glanced over at the dog, who was sniffing Aiba's hand. If they didn't bring back the dog, he wouldn't have to marry the princess, but... he didn't want to just leave the poor dog out there all by itself. "Maybe we don't have to bring the dog back to the princess. We could, just... I don't know, bring it back home with us?" Sho didn't even pause to think about whether it was even possible to bring the dog back through the mirror as they returned to the boutique.

Catching Sho's expression told him that the other had indeed forgotten that was the reason why they were sent out. Aiba continued to laugh, it would have been impossible not to.
His laughter slowly died down again when his traveling companion spoke up again. Eyes widening at the idea of not returning. Bringing Dragon back to their world with them. Was that even possible? Aiba looked to the dog still nuzzling at his palm and the grin returned. "Wouldn't be right to leave him with people who can't seem to handle keeping an eye on just one dog~"
[ooc: I dunno sounds like a good idea to me XD]
