There's going to be a lot of this over the next several days. "Nobody" is in town over Thanksgiving break, so TDF is chock-full of cool plays. Plus, we have friends with local family, who are in town, and ettling for some good theatre. Which we are delighted to provide.

Ah. Slops are baggy breeches that come to just below the knee. They could be slashed (with the lining showing through) or paned (basically lots of lining between strips of outer cloth), ballooned or relatively restrained. They were the basic breech style of the 16th and early 17th centuries. They could also be called plunder hose or balloon breeches, and now I come to think about it, the pants the actors were wearing last night were really just trousers tucked into long boots, and aren't you sorry you asked/

Nope!

Several years ago (and I'm at the age where "several" means anywhere 20 & 25) I was in a stage version of Pat Wrede's The Seven Towers and I had to wear poofy breaches that everyone called my pumpkin pants.

And then there was the kissing scene at the very end...
