Wonderful as always, GOH speech unique--as you'd expect from Kelly Link and Laurie Marks-- the statutory Tiptree silly song one of our best, the food at the lunches and dinners a nice complement to the excellent company and conversation, the panels as numerous as plays on Broadway and lots more entertaining, and the parties stimulating. You, too. In person will always be my favorite mode of interaction--I prefer talking to people I can see. But LJ is a whole world better than not knowing you at all.

Thank you. I'm constantly amazed and impressed by Elise's ability to come up with so many evocative (and often provocative) titles, one after the other, all night.

Not to mention the earrings, of course.

Just wanted to say thanks for the signed postcard -- adelynne gave it to me with the copy of Interfictions she won in the raffle and now that I have spare time, I can finally read it.

Also, I'm auditioning for a production of The Duchess of Malfi this evening. ;)

You're welcome. I'm only sorry I couldn't get it together to pick out some books and give them to her to give you--not that there's a whole lot of interest left at this point. The difference between scholars confronted with free research books and locusts confronted with a field of corn is not as great as one might think. Which makes me very happy indeed.

But I digress. "The Duchess of Malfi"! Wow. I wrote my MA thesis on that (and "The WHite Devil" and "The Game at Chess"). One of my all-time favorites. Who are you trying out for? The Duchess?

I don't know if you posted a list of books or not -- I just saw the initial post and then my computer decided it needed an overhaul.

Well, I auditioned with one of the Duchess' speeches, and had the rather heartening response of 'Wow, you've actually read the play, haven't you?' So I'm hoping for her. Although if they're cross-casting, I'm happy with quite a few of the male parts as well. My guess is no, if today's audition crowd was any indication, which is quite impressive.
