Hamlet ACT 2

Hamlet Act 2

Important Actions

Scene 1 - Polonius hires Reynaldo to spy on Laertes because he feels that Laertes is most likely misbehaving. Ophelia comes in and tells Polonius that Hamlet came to her in a crazed state. Polonius feels that he is this way because Ophelia will not be with him, and Hamlet’s love for her is driving him crazy.

Scene 2 - King Claudius and Queen Gertrude tell Rosencratz and Guildenstern, Hamlet’s childhood friends, to get Hamlet to tell them why he is acting the way he is. They agree. Polonius comes to tell the King that the reason Hamlet is mad is because he is in love with Ophelia.
