Listening to WNYC Radiolab has inspired me to write this.

They talk about a fire that destroyed 20000 acres of woods and claimed the life of a firefighter, but resulted in the salvation of a species of warbler. What could be the absolute embodiment of a firefighter's oath to save lives than than to die saving a species? How many risk their lives to save the family pet (that is just a dog/cat/fish/hamster/etc.)?
