Phoenix Wright

This is what I've been playing for all of this past week, pretty much non-stop. This game is so fun, it's ridiculous. Definitely one of the best DS games out there right now (which says a lot considering the DS's amazing library). There's a total of 5 cases, with each one longer than the last. The twists are really good too, characters are excellent, & things can get down-right funny as well. There are even surprising connections between all the cases. Cases 2 & 4, while at first seeming totally different, eventually turn out to have shocking connections to each other.

Although new to the US, Phoenix Wright is actually an ongoing series in Japan with 3 games on the GBA & this one on the DS. The DS version is actually a remake of the first GBA game, although with better graphics & more interactiveness (via the touch screen). & the 5th case (which I've only just started) is exclusive to the DS, which becomes apparent right away with animation that sticks out like a soar thumb compared to the rest of the game. I really can't express how much fun this game is. I truly hope they release the other 2 games in the US as well. If not as DS remakes, than at least give us the GBA versions. I'd totally buy those on the first day.

Something really weird is up with the game, however. For some reason it's become really hard to find at any store as of recently. What more, the game isn't even listed on Capcom's official site for DS games anymore. The game's become so hard to find that on Amazon you can buy the game for $50! Although that is better than Target's original price for the game. But why is it so hard to find? Rumors are spreading that the game is being discontinued, & that could only be the result of poor sales. But I highly doubt a game as great as this isn't doing well. Everyone's talking about, from gamers to game reviewers, everyone I heard loves this game. Kotaku agrees that the game has to be doing well, & suggests that the reason for the game being hard to find is because of its success, such as the case is with Animal Crossing right now. But I dunno, why would Capcom take the game off their site then?

Whatever the case, this game is a blast.
Thank you sooo much for the awesome present, Jasmine! ^_^
